[#606] Don’t You Forget About Me

Don’t you forget about me
I’ll be alone, dancing you know it baby
Going to take you apart
I’ll put us back together at heart, baby

Simple Minds, ♫Don’t You Forget About Me♫

Welcome back to my continuing coverage of Skin Fair 2019, in today’s entry I am featuring a shape from Gloom for the very recent LeLutka “Guy” head as well as a new facial hair from Mister Razzor. Strap in your seat belts and make sure you’re ready because I’m about to take you to more fun items from the biggest avatar modifying event on the grid.

I’m going to start off with the “Vic Facial Hair” from Mister Razzor, which I have to say personally that I like the life like look of this stores beards. There are three different styles for this release each of them with an applier for basic black and tintable (for the blondes, browns and gingers out there). For this entry I am wearing version #3 with the black applier. Having facial hair is something that I feel is a part of who I am both virtually and in reality and when I don’t have it I feel a little naked. There are many out there who feel the same way and I soundly encourage you fellas out there to check out this beard.

Gloom is a brand that I’m rather familiar with as they work with another event that I blog for but mainly release eyes for it so it’s pretty cool that for Skin Fair they have released several different shapes (2 male and 1 female) and since I am wearing the LeLutka “Guy” head, I have combined it with the “Castelli” shape. I really like the how they bring about the features of the face to the point where I likely wouldn’t tweak anything (as the shape is modifiable). Keep in mind that not everyone is the same height or even width on the grid so making adjustments to that is possible also.

Mister Razzor – Vic Facial Hair

  • Black and Tintable applier
  • 3 different versions (sold separately)
  • FATPACK option also available
  • Appliers for CATWA and Omega enabled mesh heads
  • Exclusively at Skin Fair 2019 until 03/24/19

Gloom – Castelli Shape

  • Made for the LeLutka Guy head
  • Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni) body sizes included
  • Modifiable to suit your needs
  • Exclusive to Skin Fair 2019 until 03/24/19

E Storm has two new items that just hit the shelves of The Men Jail that just opened up on the 8th! The double release is part of an ensemble called “Maxim” and consists of a shoulder draped shirt (more like a sweatshirt honestly) and jeans.

The shoulder shirt has 3 pack options each with 6 colors each and the pants have 14 different denim options (I am wearing Torn 2); both products have a FATPACK option to them if you just can’t decide which one you like best. The shoulder shirt allows for me to show off my upper physique a little better and with all this blogging I have been doing lately it is sure paying off.

It’s almost a workout in itself sometimes!

E Storm – Maxim Shoulder Shirt and Jeans

  • Original Mesh
  • 3 color packs with 6 colors each (Shirt)
  • 14 different denim colors for jeans (sold individually)
  • FATPACK options for both items
  • Fitted for Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni) mesh bodies
  • Exclusive to The Men Jail until 03/28/19

My excitement level has gone up a notch because lock&tuft have just released a new beanie/hair combination at Equal10 that bears my name! That’s right, the “Brennan Hair” is named after me and comes with a HUD that has 9 different hat collars. There is also two versions each having a different patch in the front which is super cool.

150 hair colors are at your disposal between the 5 different color HUDs included in the FATPACK which is what you get with every lock&tuft release. This store doesn’t play around let me tell you that. The hair is a great value and also made very well which is something you will see more and more when I feature the store in my posts.

lock&tuft – Brennan Beanie/Hair

  • Original mesh
  • HUD for beanie with 9 fabric colors
  • Two different patch versions
  • 5 hair color packs
  • Exclusive to Equal10

I really love how the photos turned out and am stoked full of energy about the things I’m discovering from Skin Fair as I know many of you are since it’s now been open for two days. There truly is a bit of everything there for the gals and the fellas which means that I need to really kick this post into gear.

On that note I am going to wrap this up and start setting up the next thing photo session. I hope you are enjoying my coverage of Skin Fair as much as I am as there is a lot more to come in the next week and then some. On a non blog related note I hope you all take care of yourself and those close to you because this is all we got and once it’s gone there’s nothing that can change how we’ve traveled through life.

Be good and be good at what you do; catch you all next time!

As you walk on by
Will you call my name?

[#604] It’z Just What We Do

Hey, we might look a little crazy tonight, hey baby that’s alright,
It’s our backwoods, boondock roots, it’s just what we do.
It’s just what we do.

Florida Georgia Line, ♫It’z Just What We Do♫

It’s the anniversary month for me as a blogger and there’s a lot going on for March so I am going to try and keep it rolling as best as I can to make sure I cover a lot of great things from events like Skin Fair, The Men Jail and The Men’s Department to stores like Cold-Ash and Native Urban. The energy I am riding on right now is great and I decided to visit Whimberly to see if I could find a spot for a photo.

I thought it would be fun to kick back and have a few cold ones to celebrate some of the milestones that I’ve accomplished lately as well as the aforementioned anniversary of blogging on my own (most won’t remember that I started blogging as part of a team for a site before I branched out).

The Men Jail opens up for a new round tomorrow and I have utilized a few items that I thought were fun. Since I already crossed off Corey Hart’s “Sunglasses At Night” I needed a different tune so with a scene that screams country I decided to go with one of my faves of the genre, Florida Georgia Line. I’ll be the first to say that Country is not my first choice when it comes to music but there are some really good artists and songs that are within the genre.

The sunglasses I have on are from a new designer/store that I have not heard of before named Ultraman Creations. The “Emperor Glasses” are pretty stylish and my favorite part about them is that they flip up revealing regular lenses. Reminds me a lot of the character of Dwayne Wayne played by Kadeem Hardison on “A Different World” though the style is a little different they still have the flip up action in common. The included HUD gives you the option to choose from 3 metals on the intricate part of the frame and 4 on the outside lenses. There is also a special section for the outside lenses where there are graphics like hearts and x’s as well as “Bad Boy”.

All in all these are a pretty fun pair of shades and it is not something you see a lot on the grid. I applaud the effort of Ultraman Creations and look forward to seeing what other types of products the release in the future and when someone asks about them, I can say I was one of the first to feature them on These Conversations Kill.

The other item I have from TMJ is the “X. Beer Bucket” by X. Store (another new store that I’m just getting acquainted with). While the main function of the bucket is to be worn by the owner (from which beverages can be dispensed to anyone who clicks it), I’ve chosen to use it in a different capacity as a decor function. It also comes with a bottle of brew that has a hand hold animation when worn.

Pretty soon the weather will get nicer and there will be in-world barbecues and this will definitely come in handy for the brew consumers in your circle or family. Give it a closer look when The Men Jail opens tomorrow along with many other offerings this round.

Ultraman Creations – Emperor Sunglasses

  • Original Mesh
  • Texture HUD included
  • 3 metals for frames
  • 4 colors for outside lenses
  • 9 special graphics for outside lenses
  • Resizable through HUD
  • Exclusive to The Men Jail until 03/28/19

X. Store – X. Beer Bucket

  • Original mesh
  • Wearable beer bucket has built in pose with beverage giving
  • Wearable bottle of beer with built in hold animation
  • Exclusive to The Men Jail until 03/28/19

I have a new jacket to wear courtesy of Cold-Ash by way of The Men’s Department. Much like the last release the “Ryan Bomber Jacket” comes with an option for a hooded sweatshirt or a regular shirt; considering I wore the hoodie version with the last release even though I love them I have to at least be fair.

With the FATPACK there is 9 different jacket colors with 11 different hoodie colors and 10 shirt colors which makes matching it up with the rest of your wardrobe as easy as can be. I chose to wear the red (or crimson if you prefer) color to go along with the red tint of the lenses on the glasses. I could have gone with blue but I wanted to have some contrast between myself and the night sky in the photo.

One hugely positive thing I can say of Cold-Ash is that while there may not be releases for every event under the sun, the events the store participates in get a high quality item because CA doesn’t take shortcuts or rush things just to make a deadline and that is something I can appreciate as I’m sure everyone out there does as well. With there being several more weeks of the cold going on I am nearly positive this will make another appearance before the weather turns decent.

Cold-Ash – RYAN Bomber Jacket (FatPack)

  • Original mesh
  • 9 jacket colors
  • 11 hoodie colors
  • 10 shirt colors
  • Single versions also for sale
  • Fitted for Belleza (Jake), Signature (Geralt+Gianni) and SLink Physique mesh bodies
  • Currently at The Men’s Department until 03/30/19

I am going to take this opportunity as I have plenty to blog this month to wrap things up as quick as possible and turn over to the credits. Hopefully if you aren’t able to get out to shop before the weekend that set aside some time to visit some of the latest rounds of events and visit some of your favorite stores as you never know if you’ll stumble upon something new.

Another one is in the books but I’m looking forward to what is next and I sure hope that you all stop back again to see what I might be up to but until then…see ya! P.S. Go visit Whimberly it’s an awesome place for photography!!!

Time to get your buzz on and your love on, all night long,
And if you play your hand right, you won’t have to go home alone.

[#603] Talk Tonight

“I wanna talk tonight
Until the mornin’ light
‘Bout how you saved my life
You and me see how we are
You and me see how we are”

Oasis, ♫Talk Tonight♫

When it comes to creativity and putting together scenes that turn into photos and then lastly become what you see and read here, I tend to be very protective of what I do. One of the processes I have is that I keep a notebook with songs that I want to use as the soundtrack to an eventual post. When I finish a blog with one of the song choices I’ve written down I highlight it (I have a lot of different colored highlighters). I’ve filled complete pages over the years and there are some that have not yet been called upon and highlighted. Many of the ones that I have not used are songs I am protective of and want to make sure that when I create a visual portrait of it that it is the best treatment I can give it.

“Talk Tonight” is a song that is very close to my heart as it originated as a B-Side (music industry term for when a song doesn’t get chosen to make the final cut for an album) on the single for “Wonderwall”. Over the years I’ve collected many of the singles for these unreleased songs and the moment I heard this one it resonated with me on a deep level; it’s taken me almost 5 years to finally decide to use it for a blog.

The vision I had for doing a scene was from the beginning always going to be somewhere with playground equipment as it signifies one of the verses in the song about wanting to go to a place where the opposite of the writer’s view played as a child. I didn’t think it would be easy to find such a place but something told me to check the Missing Melody sim and I walked around for maybe a minute or so before I found a bunch of playground equipment. I cannot say for sure that the idea of going here was planted by some unknown force but regardless of that, it is where magic happened for me when taking this photo.

For the style of outfit on this particular outing, I thought that something very basic such as a sweatshirt and track pants would be great for chilling out at a playground. I had the Gabriel “Line Pants” for a while and knew they would go well with the latest release by Native Urban, the “Wallbri Sweatshirt”. My love of hooded sweatshirts is widely known so it made me extra happy that Native Urban provided me with a new one to play with.

I honestly can’t stress enough how valuable the All Colors pack is. To have a multitude of colors at my disposal added to the fact that there are nine different areas that are able to be given whatever color I want. With clothing sometimes having the ability to color coordinate with other articles of clothing I’m wearing is a big help and also makes it a “go to” sweatshirt.

Native Urban – Wallbri Sweatshirt

  • Original mesh
  • Single color sweatshirts available
  • All Colors pack also available (best value)
  • 17 colors with 9 color changeable faces
  • Fitted for the Signature Gianni body only
  • Exclusive to Uber until 03/22/19

Club Taketomi has three new releases for men from the Burley side of the multi-branded outfit. The best part of this latest news is that if you are a member of the club, you can get “Heria” for absolutely nothing! No kidding a full fatpack of hair is yours just for being a member and if you are not a member you can still purchase the hair for a cheaper rate then most hair brands FATPACKs go for.

It’s a shorter style with hair resting just about the eyebrows and a slight part that with the included multi-styler HUD you can switch to either the left or the right so that whatever your best side is you can take a great photo. I went through a lot of different color styles when I was deciding what tone I wanted which ended up being an ombre tone of blonde and brown with black as well.

It’s worth noting that the other two male styles are just as good and for group members are a steal too so taking a trip to the Taketomi West sim and checking out the club along with the other well known stores located on it as well. It’s a nice place to take a stroll and maybe find something you weren’t looking for (which is a feeling I love having when going to new shopping events or places).

Burley – Heria

  • Original mesh
  • Club Taketomi release (Need to be member of the group)
  • FATPACK (all colors included)
  • Free for the first two weeks of availablity
  • Available now at Taketomi West shopping center

Normally I wouldn’t admit to a blunder but originally this blog was to feature items from The Men Jail event but I had taken several snaps without the items I wanted involved so I ended up deciding that the picture was great as it was and will be adding those items to a different photo and blog post. Even the best of us sometimes have moments of CRS (can’t remember shit).

Maybe it is for the best that I had my momentary lapse because I’m really happy with how this photo turned out and that it fit the criteria I set when it was time to use this song. I feel like I did it justice and I’m proud of it and that’s what matters in the long run right? It also made this post a little shorter so I can get back to brainstorming the next outfit and accessories for my next adventure (they usually are adventures in some form or another).

On that note I am going to hand this blog over to the credits just like the movies but at least you don’t have to sit there and wait for an extended scene and can see them in all their glory. My wishes for your next shopping trip to be productive and full of great new items that will be excellent additions to your closet. It’s been a blast so until the next time…later on!

[#602] Signs

“Listen to me
I’m not saying it’s impossible
Maybe I just need a little sympathy
Though I’m guessing it would help
If I opened my heart to somebody”

Captives, ♫Signs♫

The third month of the year is already here and somehow I felt as though I blinked and the first two months just happened to slip away from me. It’s been a few days since my last post but I’ve been kind of dealing with some issues outside of the virtual world and a few inside of it as well. It’s nothing major in the larger scope of things but enough to where it’s thrown me off kilter just slightly.

Sadly it was a parting of ways with one of the brands I’ve been blogging for the longest since I started my journey and in some ways trying to get passed it was a harder hurdle than I imagined but after a lot of reflection, I truly feel like I was blessed to be a part of it and moving on is healthy and a part of the life cycle. I’ll be the first to admit though that change is not something I enjoy but dwelling on things isn’t a great idea either so I am looking at it as opening up a new opportunity with another brand who will utilize what I have to offer.

Right now my main focus is on being a part of an event that I’ve enjoyed as a consumer and am now getting the chance to be a part of as a blogger. Skin Fair will be open in just over 3 days (at the time this gets posted it will be at least 3). While the majority of the event is geared towards females, I can tell you that I will make sure that the male equivalent of the event is featured and spotlight shown on the excellent skins, shapes, and add-ons (such as tattoos).

This is my first post for the event so pardon me a bit if I’m a bit nervous doing this. Once I get in a post or so the nerves will wear off and it’ll be just like all the other stores that I promote as well as events (to which at the moment there is only one monthly one).

Usually my look when it comes to shapes is normally something that’s been custom made for me or I tweak some that I’ve purchased. Skin Fair is a medium where I have the ability to test out shapes and show them in action (so to speak) as they were intended without any tweaking. Take for instance the shape I am wearing by West End named “Bradley”. It’s for the new LeLutka “Guy” bento head and I think it looks very charming with lean and chiseled body features that along with the “Mario” skin by Stray Dog really sizzle.

The second of my two Skin Fair featured releases is the “Bubo” tattoo from INKer. There are a lot of intricate things detailed throughout this skin such as the mandala type shapes as well as Native American influences. The back piece has a pretty awesome looking skeleton which really calls attention to it. Users of the Signature mesh bodies will be happy to have this ink in their aresenal but for those of you with other mesh bodies it will sadly not work for you as it is exclusive to Gianni and Geralt.

West End – Bradley Shape

  • For use with LeLutka Guy bento mesh head
  • Can be modified to suit individual needs
  • Coming to Skin Fair 03/08/19

INKer – Bubo Tattoo

  • Signature Body Applier Only
  • Dark, Medium or Light Opacity
  • Coming to Skin Fair 03/08/19

I‘ve recently become a new blogger for the lock&tuft hairstore and this is my second official blog for the store. It’s truly an honor to be able to blog these hairs and also have had some input into recent ideas and names of them such as the “Stay Down” side swept hair that I am wearing for this look. There are a lot of fun color choices for you hair fanatics. The full packs are a great value and worth every single dollar spent on it (of course I mean lindens for those who might have wondered).

To put it the best way I can, I feel the look I’ve put together has a combination of edge along with sensitivity which meets up with the song of choice for this entry. Captives is a fairly recent band that I’ve discovered who only have two single songs out one of them being “Signs” which speaks to me loud and clear as I have felt quite a bit of what the lyrics are talking about.

Some days I feel the weight of anxiety as if it were a ton weighed upon my chest and a lot of times I don’t feel like I should burden anyone with it which is not a great idea but that’s one of the reasons that I have this blog. I can take pictures and write about things if I want to so that I don’t have to drag anyone else down with me on the days that I’m not my best.

Getting back to lock&tuft, it is a brand I’ve followed for some time and believe it will continue to grow and prosper and I look forward to seeing this first hand. This hair is badass and you can find it at Men Only Monthly which is only about halfway through their current February/March round.

lock&tuft – Stay Down

  • Original Mesh
  • 5 color packs available
  • FATPACK option also available
  • Exclusively at Men Only Monthly until 03/15/19

Now that I’ve just about finished my first entry for Skin Fair I feel a little bit more relieved which I was hoping to feel by the time I got to the end. From some of the items I’ve looked through I can definitely say that I’m going to really enjoy sharing them with everyone and if any of my posts help even one person to take a trip to Skin Fair then I’ll have succeeded in my mission.

On that note it is time for me to hand the baton over to the style credits and let them do their job. You know where I got the items now you can go grab them yourselves (except in the case of Skin Fair as it doesn’t open until the 08th). Get your shopping on and I’ll see you all back here soon for more cool swag and news.

[#601] Woke Up This Morning

Wives, mothers, fathers, sisters and brothers
Don’t you wish you didn’t function, don’t you wish you didn’t think beyond the next paycheck
And the next little drink?
Well, you do, so make up your mind to go on ’cause when you woke up this morning
Everything you had was gone, everything you had was gone

Alabama 3, ♫Woke Up This Morning♫

When it comes to old timey mafia films or television I’m a casual fan but that doesn’t mean that I don’t enjoy them less than the hardcore passionate ones. I’ll admit that I’ve really not seen much of if any of the Sopranos even though I’m sure that once I get around to seeing it that I’d enjoy it a lot as all indications are it has great acting and a compelling story.

My scene today is a tribute to the many mobster themed sources of entertainment over the years including but not limited to The Godfather series, Goodfellas, Scarface and many more that would take forever to list. Perhaps though for the aficionado’s will see the call out to The Godfather with the cat sitting on my lap and my bro Lucky sitting across from me as if he’s there to ask for a favor.

I didn’t want to completely recreate the scene exactly as I wanted to put my own touches on it so that it could stand on it’s own and not be considered a “rip-off” of sorts; I am confident that this photo will appeal to many but also if not I know I had fun with it. I would also be remiss if I didn’t thank Brenna for helping set up the scene with me based on ideas I had given her.

Having a bad memory sometimes leads to me repeating things and if I do then I apologize profusely. One of the newest stores that I am proudly a part of is Lapointe & Bastchild and for the first time I am blogging their work and being that as a blogger I am nervous because they have been one of my favorite designers over the years. Making sure that I get it right when it comes to featuring their clothing and accessories is important to me so here I go at my very first attempt as part of their team.

Most of the time I’m usually wearing black suits or tuxedos so when I found out that L&B released a specifically white rendition of their “Marc Tuxedo” I jumped at the chance to make it my mafia “Don” attire. As with their other suits and tuxes it’s very well made and fits perfectly. The suit is highly customizable with different variations of white (like the cream colored version that I’m wearing) as well as options for changing the color of the shirt, bow tie and pocket square. You can also make the pocket square invisible if they are not your thing.

If you’re a guy that’s looking for a tux that isn’t your traditional black then a visit to Lapointe & Bastchild is in order to give the “Marc Tuxedo Basic White” edition a try; if you do make the purchase, you should also consider the “Edge Oxford” shoes to compliment them for a complete look.

Lapointe & Bastchild – Marc Tuxedo Basic White Edition

  • Original mesh
  • HUD includes options to change jacket, shirt, bow tie, pocket square and pants
  • Many different style combinations to choose from
  • Fitted for Belleza (Jake), Fitted Classic, Signature (Gianni) and SLink Physique mesh bodies

Admittedly I’m not a decor blogger by default but with all the work that Brenna did helping to construct this scene so at the end of this blog you’ll find the decor credits as well as both the styles for myself and Lucky to make this a very thorough blog post. I’d also like to thank Andraus Thor who is the creator for THOR, a decor and accessories store for assisting me with a feline problem. You were a big help in facilitating my kitty addiction so thank you very much.

On this note with all the info that there is to give to you I am going to wrap up this blog post and start to begin preparation for my turn as a blogger for Skin Fair, which officially opens to the public in a weeks time. I am very excited about this and look forward to helping out hopefully not only both my fellow gentleman but also the gals as well.

It’s the weekend so I hope everyone has a chance to relax and take it easy; I’ll be back again with more from the virtual landscape so keep your eyes peeled until next time!

But you’re one in a million, you’ve got that shotgun shine

[#600] You Live And You Burn

Intending to burn, pretending to fight it
Everyone learns faster on fire
Things took a turn, lost all desire
You live and you burn
You live and…

Alkaline Trio, ♫Burn♫

Here it is…the 600th post of my blogging career. It’s not an anniversary post as that is nearly an entire month away from now but for me to have been able to do this in that short of time still kind of blows my mind. To be honest when I was asked what I was going to do for this particular blog (at the time) I didn’t know but I feel what I did put together is pretty cool and hope those who see it enjoy it like I did making it.

This isn’t going to be too long of a post as it isn’t as much a feature post as it is me allowing my creative outlet to do the talking for me; I’m also going to play around with the format a little compared to previous posts just to see if what I do fits a little better.

If you aren’t progressing then you’re regressing right?

I’ve loved the song “Burn” by Alkaline Trio for as long as I can remember and a lot longer then I’ve ever been a resident in Second Life and to be able to come up with a pretty cool idea to support it is really cool. It took the help of Animosity Poses “Yusuke” pose pack and props to bring this all together with the lighter and fire.

I feel kinda bad for the Kebab stand at Midnight Glory that essentially was burned down to the ground but I’m sure that they have coverage to build a new one…in fact I’m betting it’s already been replaced by now.

While this pose pack is not a featured item per say it is definitely worth being given a spotlight to as it is a vital part of helping me put together this photo. The pack contains 5 poses with a bonus pose included that you can only get by buying the full pack (the rest of the poses can be purchased singly) with a cigarette prop for your mouth, several different lighter props (because I enjoy cards I used the ace version), a gas can and a trail of fire which you can see in part within my photo.

There’s something about this set that tells me that I’m going to be using it again down the road for future projects; it is just that cool not to.

My main feature for this blog is the “Immortal Envy” tattoo from MooLoo Body Art. It has a lot of great detail in it and has various elements of mythological lore such as Medusa and Zeus along with clouds and reapers holding a very long and scary snake. I thought it was fitting that if I was going to portray an unhinged arsonist that this would be the perfect way to go.

I find it really interesting that above the waist line written in a form of calligraphy “Gods Envy Us” which is something that could provoke conversation or philosophical debate of some sort. Other than the fact I think it is a really cool looking tattoo I don’t really have any kind of hidden meaning behind it as I sometimes do in my photos if people pick up on them.

This is also the second time with a tattoo that I’ve worn it with a fresh ink appeal as I am usually a fan of worn tattoos and showing that they’ve been there for a span of time. In this blog though to have the ink seem bolder as the imagery itself is bold works well in my eyes.

For my last bit of news, I am proud to announce that very soon I will be blogging for PGP (Pale Girl Productions) for three events this year that include: Skin Fair, Vintage Fair and new to this year, Ark. I am super excited to be able to ply my trade for these events and be able to cover them for These Conversations Kill. It is a distinct honor and when more information is available I’ll be sure to pass it on to all of you.

I have also been given a chance as a blogger to represent Lock&Tuft which most of you know is a hair store that is potentially expanding their brand to other things or so I have heard. I am actually wearing one of their hairs in this blog’s photo but as it is not as defined due to lighting and shadow, I will be making sure I wear it in another photograph.

There are also several other brands that I have applied to be a spokesperson for but as of now until I know for sure if I’ve been added to their team I will not say by name but I will say that if I do get the chance to work with them I will be very excited and will give them the very best that I can as I do with each store that I represent.

On that note I think it is time to turn you all over to the very abbreviated credits and part for now. Be sure to check out Midnight Glory if you are a blogger or photographer as it is a great urban place that is just right for gritty type photos. That’s all I got for now so be well until next time!

Like hell we are anxiously waiting
Like hell burning silently strong
Somehow we fell down by the wayside
And somehow this hell is home

[#597] In The Garage

I’ve got an electric guitar
I play my stupid songs
I write these stupid words
And I love every one
Waiting there for me
Yes I do, I do

Weezer, ♫In The Garage

My apologies to those that might check the site for new content but this last week has been a bit hectic for me but it’s not for bad reasons at all. Usually I am not much for talking about things outside of my photos or certain themes but this is worth talking about in my mind. Our family has been looking to expand and that can often be scary in some instances but in mine and Brenna’s case it’s been pretty awesome.

Alyx (who we also call Elijah) has been a part of our lives for about a week now and sometimes I find it hard to connect with people but this young man is nearly a mirror of me in the fact that we both enjoy graphic work, movies and a whole bunch of other pop culture stuff that makes this seem much like fate (which not everyone believes in). I am not gonna get too much into things right now but I’m enjoying getting to spend time with and even get creative with him.

So what do two nerds that are creative do when they have a little free time? Well they get together and set up a photograph and I get to share my blog process with someone that is interested in it…definitely a win/win in my book.

Alyx introduced me to a new location called Midnight Glory which I would say is a photography sim with a lot of different mechanics to it to allow photo takers and bloggers to roam around and find an interesting spot within the design and being new to it, I told him to find a spot he really liked and it just happened that he has a good eye and it worked to my advantage. The area he found (a garage full of nerd stuff) prompted me to come up with the soundtrack to the post right away.

“In The Garage” has been a jam (I almost could say an anthem) for me for over 20 years and has lots of nerdy and geeky elements in both the verses and chorus. Making references to X-Men comic book characters to even members of the band kiss…but what really hit home is the opening verse talking about a “Dungeon Master’s Guide” which is what Dungeons and Dragons players have used for decades to tell stories of wizards, warriors, and mythic creatures. I was one of those who at the time when it wasn’t such the in thing to do got together with my friends on weekends (and once in a great while on a school night) and we’d have a blast rolling dice and trying to get through a story.

Continuing on with the theme of nerd power, my hair style is an homage to one of the best survival horror games of all time, “Resident Evil 2” which was re-released not long ago as an updated version which current generation graphics. Modulus released the “Leon Hair” at the beginning of the month at the FaMESHed event to commemorate and immortalize it in our virtual leg of the world.

I really like how the hair is parted and sweeps over the eyes without directly falling over them; I also have to say that it really excited me to see this because it was definitely a game I spent a lot of time on back when it was first released. Leon S. Kennedy was a character I grew very fond of and thought of as being a hero and relatable.

After putting my look together (I didn’t take the photo for this blog right away so I’ve been wearing it for a bit), I was told that I was wearing a Canadian Tuxedo (again). This is not something I consider an issue as virtually I consider myself equals parts Irish and equals part Canadian so wearing this type of attire is my birthright right?

Cold-Ash’s newest release the “FLYNN Denim Jacket” is a major reason why I would suggest a shopping trip to The Men’s Department. I didn’t realize how much this jacket fit in with my overall theme until probably just now because these kind of jackets while still fashionable now were a big thing back in the 90’s which my mindset has been in during this entire blog process.

One of the features I like best about this jacket is that you do have the option to wear it with a built-in hooded sweatshirt or with a regular shirt; to me that makes it worth it just in that respect. Outside of the FATPACK, the event has 6 denim versions to purchase but if you want the best deal and all the options to change the color of the hoodie or shirt you are wearing with it, getting the whole shebang as they say is well worth it.

Cold-Ash – FLYNN Denim Jacket

Alyx is wearing the latest hair from lock&tuft called “no joke” that is currently available at Shiny Shabby; Alyx is the creator and own of the brand as well. It’s not often that I have conversations with anyone that in turn inspire products that are brought to life within very little time as this hair has. We got to talking about hair styles and I had thrown out the idea for this style and he was willing to give it a shot; it is now at one of the big monthly shopping events for everyone to enjoy.

I will also be wearing this hair myself in an upcoming post but the idea will take some time to put together but I promise that it will be quite a bit of fun.

The quality of the hair is top notch and I can say this without bias as I’ve blogged the brand before these recent events and the color options and how things fit are definitely another reason to shop this store as there are many styles not just for men but also for women as well as unisex styles that will worth both ways. Longer messy styles are definitely in my wheelhouse of interest and I think Alyx’s overall look that he’s put together is pretty dang rad as well if I say so myself (and I do!)

lock&tuft – No Joke

  • Original unrigged mesh
  • Resizeable upon click
  • 5 color packs to choose from
  • FATPACK also available
  • Exclusive to Shiny Shabby until 03/16/19

On that note I feel like there are a lot of credits that have gone into this blog and getting through them to make sure that I’ve crossed my t’s and dottied my i’s is definitely going to take a moment which makes it that time to get this blog ready to post and start getting ready for the next one as I have been rather lethargic this week when it’s come to posting; the month is short enough as it is and I’ve still got some important things I want to share.

I want to say a big thank you to Alyx for joining me on this ride and we had a very good time. This was definitely the beginning of quite a few collaborations in the future if this is any indication because I enjoy working with others when ideas come to mind and with those I have worked with it has been nothing but great times and memories.

So long for now and enjoy the rest of the weekend!
