[#416] Not Meant For Me

The jury is coming
coming to tear me apart
all this bitching and moaning
Come on, it’s on!

Not Meant For Me” – Jonathan DavisListen

This my first Halloween inspired scene for 2017 and I feel like I’m starting off strong. This is intended to be a two part post in which the second will come within the next week as a collaboration with some fellow blogger friends of mine. I’m not going to give away all the details because I want to garner some interest for readers to come back to take a look.

Ever since I was younger I had a fascination with vampires and their myths. From television shows such as Dark Shadows and Moonlight to films like Salem’s Lot, The Lost Boys, and 30 Days Of Night as well as classic novels by Bram Stoker and Anne Rice featuring titillating characters of the undead variety. I have always been drawn to the stories of their struggle and romanticism behind them. A lot of people love these pop culture icons that have withstood the test of time itself.

This particular photo session was inspired by “The Queen of The Damned” film starring Stuart Townsend and the late Aaliyah. I was fortunate enough that the LeLutka Andrea bento head comes with a pair of fangs to help me complete my look.

The scene was shot on location at a friend’s Haunted House which will be opening soon but is not yet completed which is why at this time I won’t be providing a taxi as it is not yet open to the public. When it does become available I will give you an update in a future entry.

Brands contributing review copies for this post include Go&See with the “Robin” shape and “Christian” skin (which I have shown in previous posts) as well as MESANGE with their “Arden Eyes” that I’ve also displayed in previous entries.

This particular post has a heavy presence from the Hipster Men’s Event and also The Men’s Department. Upcoming coverage is going to include the new round of Men Only Monthly as well as Shiny Shabby and The Epiphany. I intend to visit some others as well that I hope to utilize products from.

I hope you enjoyed joining me in this adventure and I will be back again soon with another installment. Below are the styling credits with transportation to the stores and events all products can be found at.

Onto the next conversation…

EYES⊱ MESANGE – Arden Eyes @ Hipster Men’s EventNEW
FACEGo&See * Christian *
BODYBelleza – Jake
SHAPE⊱ Go&See * Robin * Lelutka Bento @ M.O.MNEW

This is the first shape created for the LeLutka Andrea head by Go&See. While I am wearing their “Christian” skin, I’ve found that several other Go&See skins work just as well with it and I am sure with other experimenting other brands could work as well. It also comes with a brow shaper and style card for those who want to nab the look out of the box.

SHIRT⊱ etham – Saul Henley @ TMDNEW

For casual clothing lovers, etham is one of those who always knows what products to create for long term wear. As a personal preference, I like long sleeved shirts that do not have collars and this Henley shirt is just the thing. I picked up the Fatpack because the price of it alone is well worth making use of the dozen colors you can change via the included HUD. You can also change the button colors as well for extra functionality.

Compatible with: Belleza, NX-Nardcotix, Signature, SLink, Standard, and TMP male mesh bodies.

<K&S> Fearless. Bento Poses 3 (2) @ Hipster Men’s EventNEW

For the second straight month, K&S has released another “Fearless” 3 pose set at Hipster Men’s Event. I’m not sure how long it will continue but I’ve been enjoying these so I do hope that they continue to so I can continue to feature them in my scenes.

[#377] Just A Little Patience

I sit here on the stairs
‘Cause I’d rather be alone
If I can’t have you right now
I’ll wait, dear

Patience” – GunsN RosesListen

It seems that lately I haven’t been posting as much as I have been known to do but perhaps it is because I’m in a little bit of a creative slump that I am working through. It seems anyone who is worth their grain in salt knows that it’s not always easy to get things from their head into whatever medium they are working with. This could be said for me. I did manage to come up with a classic tune for the theme of this look, also sort of a play on words if you are able to make a connection through the photos.

There is a little bit of everything that went into the look for this photo session with some great events that are still going for a bit longer and also some new hunts for those of you who are interested in them, and to be honest they are really pretty fun.

I’ll start off with the skin I’m wearing. “Arthur” can be found at the Stray Dog main location as part of the Destination of Hope hunt which is in conjunction with the Relay for Life Charity. If you are unfamiliar with RFL, they are a charitable organization which centers around raising funds for cancer research. While Gac Akina, the owner of Stray Dog and other great creators are putting out their items for this hunt for only 10L, I encourage you to at least donate extra to RFL. It’s for a good cause and if my donation or yours can at least contribute to helping one person then what is there to lose? Getting back to “Arthur” it comes in the 02 Tone only and has separate HUDs for a skin with brows and one without. Each skin comes with a freckle applier as well for those of you who have them or want to have them.

A new round of TMD has started but as I was looking for items in my “closet” I came across the Mind Carlberg set which contains a shirt as well as underwear but considering I wanted to wear more than just that I chose to leave the undies behind. The colorway I chose for this set was the Pink/Cream set which comes with a HUD that you can choose either pink sleeves and a cream shirt base or vice versa. I like roses so it seemed like a logical choice for me.

Also from last months TMD (I just missed the cutoff by a few days…isn’t that always the case?) are the L&B Swear “Salvage Denim Jeans”. I am finding for the value of the fullpack you get so many more choices then buying one single denim color. As with many of the latest L&B Swear releases, these jean shorts come with an exclusive set of denims found only in the fatpack. I love how these look and they fit exactly how they should. Sizes included in the package are: Aesthetic, Classic Fitmesh, Gianni, and SLink Physique.

ULTRA is still going strong until the 15th of June and they are having their Anniversary round. There are many different goodies you can find there and I managed to come across the “Flash Pump Trainers” by [VALE KOER]. These are reminiscent of the pump style shoe that were popular during the 90’s but with a little more modern updated flair. This is another brand that I tend to always purchase full packs of because the customizations on them is out of this world. You could literally not wear the same combination style twice unless you wanted to. Included sizes in the package are: Belleza, Maitreya, and SLink (for the gals) and Gianni, SLink, and TMP (for the fellas) as well as Unrigged for Standard sized avatars.

Pseudo is one of the backdrop creators that I have a love/hate relationship with. Don’t get me wrong, the quality is over the top which is what I love about them but the thing I hate about their gacha machines is that I never have an easy time getting complete sets so some of them are incomplete. Back in April they had a really great set that I finally am getting a chance to use one from. It’s called the “Back Exit Scene” which looks to take place at the back of a building where there is a door and a bit of Banksy type graffiti thrown in for that extra something. I combined that with a pose from the “And So On” Set A from Le Poppycock that you can find at the current round of Men Only Monthly.

I think I’ve just about covered everything involved in the process of completing this post. Down below are the full credits with taxis to take you to each location of the item. Keep in mind that you should always try Demo’s when available just so there is never any doubt left behind. I bid you good shopping and until next time, stay stylish fellas!

[#374] So Say Hello To Heaven

Chris Cornell
1964-2017

I never wanted to write these words down for you
With the pages of phrases of all the things we’ll never do.

Say Hello 2 Heaven” –  Temple Of The Dog  ♫Listen

After a few days of reflection and introspection, I decided that I was going to show my appreciation for a musician who has been a part of my life for over 20 years. From the beginning when I first heard “Outshined” by Soundgarden I knew there was something special about the bands vocalist, Chris Cornell. This past Wednesday he left the world and left a lot of questions behind. I’m not going to write about the circumstances behind it, I’m only going to think fondly back on the time and the music that his legacy leaves behind. I put together a look that reminds me of a time when I was first introduced to the grunge/alternative scene that is so close to my heart and take me back to some simpler times.

It was not just the times with Soundgarden that I am fond of but that is where my appreciation began. I think one of the best projects that Chris was a part of was Temple of The Dog album which he teamed up with what would become future members of another legendary grunge group, Pearl Jam (who were the remnants of a group I am about to mention). They got together and made a record as a tribute to their fallen friend, Andrew Wood, who had been the vocalist for the Seattle based group called Mother Love Bone. Andrew had passed away due to an overdose and much like people today are mourning Chris, the music scene felt the ripple of his passing. The theme in today’s look is from the Temple of The Dog album which some 25 years later is just as fitting for Andrew as it is now for Chris. There are many musicians from many different eras but very few of them had the kind of voice, Chris Cornell did and that is why he will truly be missed by his family, friends, and fans all over the world. Thank you for the music.

There are very few new items in this look except for the MESANGE exclusive from We Love RP in the form of the “Sheba Eyes” there are 15 different iris tones to choose from and are also available a bundle together, complete with a HUD that will work with the included mesh eyes as well as Omega Applier friendly ones such as Catwa.

The other new item is from CDC (or Chris Dunkelheit Creations) which is a maker of shapes, skins, beards and other fine products. What I am wearing from them here is the No. 57 beard which reminds me of the early 90’s mustache and goatee that Chris wore and also could be seen in the brief cameo of his in the movie, “Singles”.

Once again I am wearing the Belleza “Jake” mesh body and I am finding the more that I am using it, the more I am really liking it and cannot wait for more products to be released exclusively for it and I know that they will be pouring in to stores and events in the near future.

Fitting my grunge theme are the “Clay” dirty jeans from Legal Insanity. These disheveled cut off shorts with fraying bottoms come complete with a shirt wrapped around them. The store also sells different texture appliers for the shirt which I purchased the TARTAN v.1 extra because I really liked how the flannel inspired the look even more. With the use of Alpha Sliders, these shorts fit perfectly with the standard sizes provided in the package.

For footwear,  I am wearing the [Deadwool] “Strider” boots which I knew were absolutely perfect in completing this 90’s inspired grunge look.

Lastly for honorable mention in this post is the chair that is used in the scene, it is the “Lexington Chair” from {Q-Essentials}. It has poses included in it but the setting I envisioned in my head was to be sitting on the floor so I did not use them. It is a great decor item to add to your collection if you are looking for new furniture. There is also a Sofa available as well. The pose I used is from <K&S> Poses and is from the “No Problem” set # 2. These are mostly sitting or crouching poses for those who are looking to set up a scene without furniture or just want to be posed on the floor.

That is all there is to know about what went into the styling of this post and I hope you enjoyed this tribute as much as I did creating it. I thank any of you who read, view, like, comment, or fave this on social media. I appreciate it all and I hope that I’m able to express that to you in some form one day. Until next time, as always…stay stylish fellas!
