[#518] Remedy

Alright, okay
Do you hear what I got to say?
Do you hear what I got to say?
I’m searching for a remedy

30 Seconds To Mars, ♫Remedy

Locations are one of the most important things for me when I want to go out and take a photo instead of using a backdrop or the rare green screen (since I’m not proficient at it yet and I have a love/hate relationship with the idea). Last blog I ventured out to my friend Yosh Shi’s Posh Nightclub and the set up of the place definitely will encourage me to photograph there again sometime in the future.

Sometimes when I’m randomly scrolling through Flickr I’ll see a photograph with an interesting location and I’ll venture more into finding out where the location is and if I’m lucky the artist will link it or post it on an actual blog they’ve made. When it’s not then if I want to find it bad enough I reach out and ask what the location is. A few days ago I was lucky enough to come across a place called “Tralala’s Diner” which is what I would consider a desolate or post apocalyptic landscape. I wasn’t looking to find the exact spot that I saw in the Flickr photo because that just feels like I’d be trying to copy an idea so I walked around a bit and with a fair idea of what I wanted to do I found a spot that worked perfectly.

The song I chose for the soundtrack of this blog is a fairly new one by 30 Seconds To Mars and off of their most recent album “America”. What’s different about this song is that the vocalist is not Jared Leto who many associate with the band as it’s frontman and also famous actor. Instead it is his younger brother, Shannon, who I feel has a pretty good voice as well and was a bit of a surprise when I heard it.

The song itself I feel has a meaning of someone being down on their luck and very lost in the world and that made it a good choice to take my photos at this location. I am giving the perspective of someone who just can’t seem to get their life together and seems to not want to accept the help of others and just tries to forget that they are in such a desperate place.

My overall look suggests this is at the near beginning of the struggle with fresher clothes and not quite to the point of squalor.

I‘m going to start with my feet as the shoes I’m wearing are another new favorite of mine from Native Urban. For the past few months they have released footwear at the Uber event and I’m definitely a fan of that because of the amount of customization that exists in their fatpacks. The “Woodboat” shoes are patterned after a famous brand of sneakers that I am a fan of in the real world as well. Virtually I can admit that I would probably be a sneaker head because of the amount of different shoes that I have in my style arsenal.

If Fatpacks are a bit too pricey there are 12 single style colors to choose from at the event but truthfully if I were eyeing more than one I would probably opt to get the whole package to save a few extra dollars.

Native Urban Woodboat Sneakers features:

  • 100% Original Mesh
  • 12 different single color style options
  • 21 different colors in FATPACK
  • 12 different faces customizable via HUD
  • Fits Belleza (Jake), Signature (Gianni) and SLink Physique mesh bodies
  • Female body sizes also included (Belleza, Maitreya and SLink)
  • Exclusively @ Uber until September 22nd!

For this look I was able to incorporate both old and new Gabriel items to help complete my wardrobe. I’ll start first with the new because two of the items are for sale right now at the Man Cave event. The “Line Hoodie” is an open sweatshirt with a pulled up hood that allows space for you to wear your favorite hair without fear of it poking through (though depending on your head shape size you may have to adjust your hair). I felt compelled to buy the fatpack for this item because there were four different colors included and the price for all of them I thought was a fantastic bargain and fits the casual “I don’t feel like getting overly dressed” category.

To go along with it, Gabriel also released the “Line” pants which would be best described as sport pants (or even jogging pants if you’d rather) and come in the same four colors as the hoodie. I couldn’t pass up the idea of wearing the whole outfit even though a lot of times I don’t always pair things that are sold separately but are considered part of a set. I liked the idea of how it looked and also it was cool that I chose two different colors for the hoodie and pants.

I didn’t think it would work taking photos in a grungy setting with a bare chested open hoodie so I dug into my closet and found the tank tops that came with the “Spring Bomber” fatpack. It fit perfectly which I thought might not necessarily work since it wasn’t designed for this set but it did and helped complete my look.

Gabriel Line Hoodie and Line Pants features:

  • 100% original mesh
  • 4 colors to choose from (Black, Blue, Gray and Khaki)
  • Sold separately or in two different FATPACKS
  • Fits Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni) mesh bodies
  • Exclusively @ Man Cave until Sep. 09th!

This blog was kept simple because I’ve learned that if I pack too many things into it that it tends to become difficult to write and also because I don’t want to bore the heck out of anyone who reads it. If I manage to keep just the main things that are newest and also most important to me then the blogs won’t be so long winded.

Last blog I wrote that I had some exciting news but with how things happened it is being pushed back to the next post but I’m really stoked about it and to share it with my readers and followers who may not pay close attention to my social media outlets. Stay tuned for more and until our paths may once again cross, onto the next conversation…

[#512] Bullet With A Name On It

I’m working harder than a hundred black mules down in Mexico.
No water, no clouds, no cover,
from the hotter than Hell no dinner bell,
empty oven again from another bad opinion.

Nonpoint, ♫Bullet With A Name

Fierce Friday…well maybe not for everyone but it sure is for me.

I was blessed to be able to work with a photographer that I’ve been wanting to do a collaboration with for the longest time, and finally I got to meet up with Travis Olbers and put my spin on the scene that you see above. He’s already posted his version of it which you can find on his FLICKR page and I really think his turned out great and it inspired me to try and do just as good of a job; I think in the long run that my version came out strong and quite like I saw in my head.

My theme for this post was quite easy considering both of us were both carrying some hardware with us preparing for the cleansing of the location called Alien Asylum (which I had never visited before until now). I feel like a good backstory behind the scene is that the two of us are hired mercs and were paid to clean out a location with our “expertise” and the photos that both Travis and I took capture the two of us leaving after causing a whole lot of chaos….which I am particularly good at in certain circumstances.

When I got the call from Travis I hadn’t had any plan for my next photo so this became an impromptu session but I was able to turn it into a blog post instead of just posting it on Flickr having done it just for fun (which it was fun but it gave me extra incentive). I had recently made a second trip to the Mesh Body Addicts Fair because I really wanted the beard that I have on. It also gave me a reason to break out items from the Gabriel gacha at The Epiphany event that I felt were great for the type of scene that was being suggested to me.

Getting back to the beard, I really like that Vista came out swinging after the release of the “Gerard” head by also releasing this beard that fits just right on the face and is similar to other beards you can find for heads made by CATWA but only fit certain ones only. “Jacob” is just for the “Gerard” head and will not fit any others and it adjusts with your face sliders as well for a fit second to none.

Vista Animations Jacob Beard (Bento) features:

  • Bento mesh mustache and beard
  • HUD allows you to hide either the mustache or beard
  • 5 different hair colors to choose from
  • Tintable option within HUD to give you more than initial color choices
  • Exclusive to the Mesh Body Addicts Fair until August 21st

When Gabriel releases a gacha set I generally have a lot of interest in it and there are so many that I’m saving for the right moment but after getting really lucky with the machine at the latest round of The Epiphany I thought it would be good to use it for this photo. I am wearing shoes from the set but with the angle I chose they didn’t make it into the actual photo but I will also add a pic of the key so that if you see items from the set that you want you can grab them and now would be a good time to do so as the event’s been open a while and will not be so crowded you would feel like you’re wading in quicksand.

The outfit feels very mercenary like which is the vibe I wanted to give off and I think that I pulled it off well enough that it won’t get lost in translation. Of course I played to win all of the black items in the set and managed to do so in a very limited number of pulls of the machine which rarely ever happens for me. I’ve seen quite a few photos with people wearing some of these items (including the rare coat) but I chose not to with feeling that mechanically if I’m dealing out punishment it would hinder the process.

Gabriel Strap Tank / Black & Strap Line Pants / Black features:

  • 100% rigged mesh
  • Part of Gacha set
  • Both items are common pulls
  • Machine costs $75L to play
  • Fitted sizes for both Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni) mesh bodies
  • Only @ The Epiphany gacha event through August 12th!

GABRIEL@Epiphany

With the weekend approach I hope that I can get at least another planned photo session done because there are several ideas that I have stirring around in my head but it really all boils down to time and having enough of it free to accomplish something.

As I wrap this up and leave you with the credits, I would like to thank Travis Olbers for inviting me to join him to work on a joint photo. It was a lot of fun and I certainly would enjoy doing it again in the future (and hopefully it doesn’t take us forever to set something up again right? Haha). Have a great weekend everyone and until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#505] Alone In A Room

A couple years back and forth with myself in a cage
Banging my head against the wall, tryna put words on a page
All I needed was the last thing I wanted
To be alone in a room, alone in a room

Asking Alexandria, ♫Alone In A Room

Sometimes as a blogger when I see something that inspires me and gives me a push to try and put my own spin on it whatever way that I can, it can be the motivation that puts you on track. I chose to do that with this current post to honor an idea by my friend, Lucky Spiritor. He has chosen to do what many do and moved on from blogging and the virtual world and it was nice being able to work with him during his re-emergence and it is one thing he definitely has pushed me to find ways to break my own creative limits.

We have a similar taste in music most times and when he chose to do a song by Asking Alexandria, who I also listen to quite a bit and have used their work as inspiration, I thought maybe down the road I would try my hand at that particular song as a soundtrack for a post. While I honestly don’t think mine holds much of a candle to his which you can take a look at HERE, I know that I gave it my hardest.

A lot of times I know that I kind of go into myself and lock myself away from others because I feel that only I can make a situation that is taxing on me better which is not always the best way to go. That is why I resonate with the part of the song about being locked up in a cage and that’s the visual that I chose to work from and have pulled quite a bit of things together to make it work.

The easiest part for me is usually my look and outfit and a lot of that doesn’t change from one post to another save for small details such as hair or facial hair. There are just so many styles out there that it tends to be difficult for me to stick to just one (as well as when one of the brands you blog for specializes in that category).

Modulus is participating once again at the equal10 event and their offering for the month of July is a straight side-swept hair called “Jared”. I thought that this worked great for the edgier look that I was going for with the “Spring Bomber” from Gabriel. I’m of course once again wearing one of the black tones from the Monochromes pack which also fits the overall aesthetic of my appearance. I could have probably even worn guyliner with this look but I felt like that would be a bit too much and would take away more than it was adding. This hair was easy to adjust to my super big dome which is one of the things I like about hairs from Modulus as I don’t spend extra setup time trying to fuss with it (as I don’t have to).

Modulus Jared Hair features:

  • Unisex (as recently noted by Modulus)
  • Resizable through script directly inside hair
  • 40 colors overall (8 per HUD and 5 HUDs total)
  • FATPACK option available
  • HUD also contains color picker for added cutomization
  • Available @ equal10 until August 5th!

Lately I’ve found myself not really trying out new skins or getting demo’s for them because I’m very happy with the face I’ve been wearing lately but I was intrigued by the [Vendetta] “Nathan” skin from The Men Jail. It also challenged me to switch from my Daniel head to Victor which is what the skin suggested for best use (and after comparing between the two I have to agree). One of the other surprising things is that the skin only comes in “tan” tones which is normally not my particular blend of tea but it is a nice skin so I was very happy to blog it and put it out there for the world to see in conjunction with the Purfect “Beard and Mustache 005”.

[Vendetta] Nathan Skin features:

  • 3 skin tones available (04, 05, 06)
  • CATWA, LeLutka and Omega appliers (all sold separately)
  • Body skins also sold seperately
  • Brow or Browless version in applier

Earlier I mentioned cages and of course that became a huge centerpiece of my scene which one was easy to find as a part of the goodies from The Men Jail. *BENT* has for sale a very sizeable prison cell that I feel from getting acquainted with it is patterned after something used in the Suicide Squad movie at the beginning and towards the end of the film. It’s construction is nice but the only thing (and it’s not a complaint at all) is that I feel it could have been made to be resized. I wouldn’t call it a deal-breaker or dissuade anyone from getting this because it’s very cool and really helped me with my scene.

*BENT* #cage Prop features:

  • 100% Mesh construction
  • 5 different bento animations
  • Available @ The Men Jail until July 28th

As I begin to wrap this up I will give a few final thoughts about the overall production of this blog post. I really feel even though it has a bit of a darker tone to it there is also a sense of hope that comes with it because each and every one of us may have that feeling of being in a cage at sometime in our lifetimes but unless you are truly in a cell because of something horrific that’s been done, escape is possible and you don’t always have to rely on yourself. There are people you may have in your life that would give anything they could for you, and there’s even the potential for someone you’ve never met to help raise you from that feeling of being locked up.

Freedom is possible and that is something I’ll leave you with until our paths cross again.

Onto the next conversation…

[#475] She’s Got The Looks That Kill

Now she’s a cool, cool black
Moves like a cat
If you don’t get her game
You might not make it back

Motley Crue, ♫Looks That Kill

Don’t adjust your screens! What you are seeing is something that would be considered by me as taking a risk for the simple reason is that These Conversations Kill is a male fashion blog and while that is true, I’ve given some thought to some things and this is what I’ve come up with.

There are so many times in the past that I’ve taken the safe path because I thought that was what worked for me but now that I am starting to look at a bigger picture with the help of being included into this years Pose Fair (and the predominantly female presence of products) that I can step out of my comfort zone and give a spotlight to something different.

Fueled by the inspiration from LV Designs and their cost alternative bento mesh head, I dusted off the Brembot (a play on my name and fembot, which is a reference to Austin Powers) so that I could see what kind of creativity I could perform when I wasn’t the premier focus. Yes, I am still a part of the scene but in a very minute (and not functioning way).

You might be wondering a little bit more about the LV Designs bento head. Her name is Chloe and she’s a lower cost alternative to people who may not have the ability to own other brands. The head is bare bones with basics of a few lipstick choices but it is omega applier compliant so you can choose to wear the provided skin or try out something different by demoing skins that are omega compatible. The body skin is sold separately and is made by Colvati and matches Tone 3 if you choose to go the path that designer, Lee Quirina intended.

Chloe was not the only thing that inspired me to ultimately step out of my comfort zone. Talks with several friends and also contemporaries have more than once said that going outside the box (which I have before but not to this scale) is not a bad thing. I think I’m finally realizing a much bigger picture as well and I it’s caused me to do a double take (literally and a good segue).

Double Take poses released two different exclusive pose sets for the April round of Pose Fair 2018, the one that Brembot is using is the “Universal” set; it has 5 different static bento poses that are of the highest quality. The reason I chose this set is that one of the poses best fit the idea I was going for in this scene which I would liken to that of a female assassin making her way through a mission.

I may still be working on perfecting my close-up shots, I feel like I did a little bit better with this go round. New things are always a work in progress and as I continue to try new things they may not be 100% great but that is what putting the work in to make them the best you think they can be.

Brembot’s outfit consists of items from the Gabriel “Armed Style” gacha which I believe first made it’s appearance at Shiny Shabby a few months ago but is now playable at the main store. I had come up with several other ideas for this outfit (along with the male one) but plans can change and I came up with a better visual to use it individually. Definitely a creative and great set for those of you gals who are interested in being a soldier (possibly in an RP setting) and want clothing that is not only made well but has great texturing.

Paparazzi is one of my top few brands when it comes to scene building and backdrops. I really loved the way that their “The Underpass” backdrop helped set the scene and the story of what I was trying to create. There were probably a few different ways I could have gone about it but in the long run this definitely worked out well.

Once again it is time to lead you to the credits (although there is not much in the way of them but that is okay). I truly enjoyed putting on a different hat of sorts and look forward to what I can accomplish in the future. I’ll be back again soon with more from Pose Fair, and possibly even FaMESHed and the freshly stocked April round of The Men’s Department.

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#457] It’s Not Too Late

For the first time in years
There’s a light up ahead
It’s calling
(It’s pulling me closer)
Reborn within
Now I’m shedding my skin
It’s falling
(The weight off my shoulders)

Change Tomorrow♫ – Like A Storm

One of the hardest things sometimes is after you’ve got all of your wardrobe put together and are committed to doing a photo shoot, you cannot find a suitable backdrop or location to get the job done. Thankfully after I put my look together I was wandering around with my Parents to different sales across the grid when I landed at the Fairmage sim, which is home to Dark Magic Poses.

It has a really nicely built town setting so I did a little walk through and found a spot that I liked and started to go to work. The pictures themselves turned out well and did a bit of touching up to certain things (but not too much of course). The next step would be to come up with a soundtrack as I didn’t really have any favorites that stuck out in my mind at the time (which is not usual at this stage of a blog shoot).

Music is something I consider to be central to this blog and as I was trying to figure out my identity as a blogger and what I wanted to do, I re-branded the blog after the first year of being active (nearly going on 4 very soon). I chose lyrics to a song that is personally a part of me to be the title of the blog. So naturally through the process of blogging (shooting and editing) I’m always listening to music because to me it is not a distraction; it often helps me in the creative process.

I have playlists at random and a song came on that to me can be thought provoking. Usually I have a limit to how long between blog posts I will use a certain artist and I knew that I had featured a song by the band, Like A Storm towards the beginning of the year. I feel like enough time has passed between that post and this one to be able to use another song.

For me personally I feel like a majority of people want to change something (whether it be the entire world, or a person that might be troubled). In order to really do that I believe it all starts with yourself and it doesn’t have to be a major change. Even the littlest thing can make a difference for you and the cause and effect will trickle and reach others. It is something that anyone who might be reading can think about and apply. It doesn’t cost money and if the change is positive it won’t hurt anyone.

Winter on the grid is slowly starting to fade as many locations are starting to do their spring prep (which is something I’m happy about) but there is still a bit of cold and snowy going on at Fairmage so it worked out well that my outfit is comprised of outdoor apparel. I really loved how this outfit came together and it’s a bit dressy but I often don’t wear stuff that makes me look sophisticated (shirts and jeans usually fill my closet).

Native Urban came out with this really awesome coat/sweater combination that originally was released at the Cosmopolitan event (unfortunately it ended on the 24th just before I could publish this). I purchased the AC (All Colors or FATPACK as it were) and am really happy about the choice that comes with it. 7 different color fabrics for the coat to choose from and 11 different sweater options (as well as the ability to show or hide the sweater). You can also change the buttons (3 options of those to pick from) and I’m wearing it for the Belleza body but also offered in the package are sizes for Signature (Gianni) and SLink.

Gloves are something that are hit and miss now with mesh bodies and you have to really be careful to make sure they fit right. Gabriel has a set of fingerless gloves which debuted at last month’s Uber event which again I was unable to get this look together before the next round. That is why it’s great that these brands bring their event items into the store afterwards for the shoppers that missed the event for whatever reason. The gloves come in three colors (Black, Dark Gray and Gray) and fit the Belleza and Signature (Gianni) mesh bodies.

I’ve noticed lately that I have been picking up a lot of the newest releases from the [Gild] brand. I don’t really have a specific reason for it other than I think that the quality of the products are what catches my eye and the style fits the kind of things I like to wear. The “Standard Fit Pants” were a part of the Hipster Men’s Event from January and have a really good look when combined with the Native Urban coat and the A&D “Firenze” dress shoes that I am wearing. The pants come in Black, Blue, Gray, Green, Pink and Yellow which can be purchased separately as well as in a FATPACK and have sizing for Belleza, Signature (Gianni) and SLink male bodies. Personally these pants work really well for any dress up situation and even some casual wear occasions as well.

The Men’s Jail round for January is soon coming to a close but before it does I think you need to run (not walk) to the event to take a look at the “Brody” hair from Modulus. I’m not sure who Chucky Hollak patterned this one after (possibly Adrien Brody) but I’m usually pretty good with figuring out what this hair mastermind patterns his creations after.

25 colors in all (spread out into 5 different color packs) that can be purchased individually or via FATPACK for a better bargain if you tend to wear more than one color hair type. This hair is a shorter left side swept hair with closely cropped back and sides and looks its best when paired with the Jai hairbase which is also from the Modulus brand and can be found in their store!

The pose you see in the very first photo is from the “Boss” pose set from Go&See, there are 4 different pose types (and you also get in the package two different priority types for whatever your needs are. They are available right now at the Go& See store along with other pose sets, AO Animations, Eyes, and also Skins which is what the brand began with before branching out.

Time for me to wrap this up so I can get back to work on bringing the next look to you from various events across the grid perhaps mixed in with some favorites from my closet. You just never know what you’ll find here on These Conversations Kill.

Onto the next conversation…

[#444] Footsteps

I did a what I had to do. Oh, and if there was a reason…
Oh, there wasn’t no reason. no.
And if there’s something you’d like to do. Oh, just let me continue to blame you.

Footsteps♫ – Pearl Jam

When I started putting this visual together my original vision was different.

My first thoughts were to go with a gory visual but as I kept thinking about it I wanted to make it more about the mental aspect of the scene. You can add blood to anything and just leave it at that but I wanted a little more that would be more about the logical aspect. There are some elements based off the book/film “The Shining” as the backdrop that I am using is based off of it as well.

With my look I wanted to give the feeling as if the person in question had not shaven or cut their hair as well as suffer from insomnia and or paranoia; this person has completely shut themselves off from the world. Putting this together was a lot of fun even if my vision changed a little once I started to put all the pieces together; I think that what I did finish off with came out better in the long run.

I feel that my song choice also fit perfectly and allowed me to dig into a rarity by Pearl Jam that not many knew about before their “Lost Dogs” unreleased tracks album came out. I first encountered this song when I purchased a cd single of “Jeremy” (this is when that was a big thing to do to get songs not put on albums). Listening to it carefully it gives me the feeling that it is about someone who is suffering from some kind of depression or mental illness; it could even be dealing with the loss of someone and the aftermath of it.

Lately I can not say enough about the new hairs being released by Modulus. The brand may be a partner of this blog but as a reviewer of items I have a duty to be honest with the products I feature on this site. I’m not here to blow smoke up anyone’s rear end or praise someone because I know them or are friends with them. I genuinely love this brand and have from it’s beginnings as a skin store by the name of Fruk. Fast Forward to present day and the hairs that are part of the Alpha series, they are not only styled well but have great textures and design.

Many brands are fighting for your money which obviously you know. I do have access to Modulus and the brands creator, Chucky Hollak, and I can tell you that I have never met anyone so dedicated to making products that you will enjoy and use over and over. If it isn’t up to his strict specifications then it doesn’t see the light of day and that tells me something.

This brand does not phone it in.

Lately I have had some fruitful shopping trips, one of which was to the recently opened Man Cave. After two trips leaving with things I feel like I could even go back again for more but I have to keep in mind that Men Only Monthly just started as well as Hipster Men’s Event which is coming up this Tuesday. Times like this with so many things I feel that I can use in my photos it makes budgeting a pain in the backside.

My love of shopping is not a very good thing for my wallet.

Time for me to finish up here and get to those credits and my opinions on the items I have not previously blogged before and work on what is to come.

Onto the next conversation…

HAIR: Modulus – Adam – Browns @ The Men’s JailNEW

For the second straight month in a row, The Men’s Jail has been fortunate to have Modulus release a new hair at their event and I have it on good authority that the “Adam” hair has been styled after the man behind the character Kylo Ren, Adam Driver. Mid length to longer styles are always catching my eye because it allows me to have the kind of hair that I do not have in the real world. This great style is available in 5 color packs (each with 5 colors) and can be purchased as a FATPACK as well for the people who just can’t decide and want to save themselves some hard earn money.

EYES: AG. Reverie Eyes

Previously released at the first Cosmopolitan event that ran from January 1st-15th, these eyes are every bit of what you have come to expect from Avi-Glam. For this blog I am wearing the Sky color eyes. In addition to that color there are 19 other colors you can pick from or if you absolutely cannot live without more than one color you can get them all for a value price.

Included is a HUD for CATWA, Omega and Regular (which work with the mesh eyes also in the pack).

FACE: ::LV:. Brennan (Previously Blogged)

FACIAL HAIR: Volkstone Grizzly Facial Hair [4 Styles+Tint.] @ ULTRANEW

Beards are something I like quite a bit and in varying styles depending on my mood. This beard is a bit thicker than a lot of the other styles I have worn (though I have been known to sport some really heavy beards). There are several versions included in this pack and have HUDs for both CATWA and Omega. One of the styles allows for you to have a salt and pepper style beard if you want to look a little more seasoned as some do here on the grid.

BODY:: Belleza – Jake (Previously Blogged)

SHIRT: COMPLEX / ZAC FLANNEL / FATPACK @ TMDNEW

When I first saw this product I had to have it and I could not just purchase one and went with the FATPACK. The best part about doing that is that there are extras included that you cannot get if you buy separately.

I am wearing the blue flannel with white shirt combo even though I love the pack has plaid flannel in it as well. There is HUD for both the flannel and also the inside shirt (which would also be in single packs). If want to wear the flannel open without the shirt there is a toggle in the HUD where you can remove it or add it back on whenever you want.

PANTS: ::GB:: Slim Denim jeans / Wallet chain / FATPACK @ Man CaveNEW

Wallet chains may not be the in thing as much these days as they have in the past but it’s a feature I love seeing in jeans which is why this product was a must have. Gabriel makes not only quality products but makes them super affordable even for their FATPACKS which I splurged on with this as well and as I said, I did do a bit of damage at Man Cave as you are now discovering. There are three colors of denim (dark, light and black) with the wallet chain as an attachment.

Even if the wallet chain is not your cup of tea, you can always get these jeans and not wear it because they are still great with or without the addition; if you decide not to jump on these you may just regret it at some point and that’s just my opinion.

SHOES: EQUAL – Neil Sneakers FATPACK @ Man CaveNEW

There’s definitely more than one reason for the Man Cave event’s name. Not only is it making a reference to being a male only event as well a room in a house where males hole themselves up in on the weekends or during possible sporting events. Personally I think it also refers to one’s ability to not pass up a great item and they “cave” under the pressure to buy things like FATPACKs. EQUAL is a newer brand out on the scene but having come across their brand in several events in the last few months I am becoming a fan with the quality and styles they are releasing.

The style of these shoes really caught my eye and there were so many great colors that when I priced the ones I wanted and looked at what it would be for them all it was a no brainer. The HUD that is included with the FATPACK allows you to customize sections of the shoe with all the available colors in the pack and there are a total of 10.

BACKDROP: [Bad Unicorn] Redrum Backdrop

Inspired by the hotel featured in “The Shining” I have seen some really cool movie scene recreations and I wanted to do something just a little different from all that I have seen and I feel I hit the nail on it. The build is put together very well and photographs great as I tested several different windlights while I was trying to find the right mood for the session (which I used two different ones). When it comes to building backdrops, Bad Unicorn is one of the tops in that genre and I always look forward to seeing their work at events and new store releases.

[#414] This Hurricane…

The promises we made were not enough
The prayers that we have prayed were like a drug
The secrets that we sold were never known…

Hurricane” – 30 Seconds To MarsListen

With this scene I brought together some things to add a little culture to the entries of These Conversations Kill. After having visited the Matsuri event, it inspired me to put together this look with the things I brought home and some that I already had lurking in my virtual closet.

For those of you who might not be familiar with the Matsuri event, it is an event full of asian centric items including furniture, clothing, poses, and photography aids such as backdrops.

Aside from the event area there is a nice little town to explore as well to further give you an experience. Many of the vendors in the shopping area have a HUD that you can used to collect “stamps” by teleporting to the participating storefronts and after you’ve collected 15 stamps you can return to the event and trade them in for a prize of your choice from one of several designers.

I‘m featuring items from blog sponsors LV Designs and Go&See (whom have a great eye set at The Seasons Story as well as a gift that I’m reviewing in this post). Other creators being shown include Gabriel, Catwa, Belleza, [sYs] and BAMSE.

Shooting this scene was particularly fun for me because I enjoy many aspects of Asian culture past and present. I’ve done scenes in the past as well with it being the theme so it is something I consider to be an interest.

I hope everyone that’s viewing this enjoys what they see and it gives them a reason to take a ride to the Matsuri event as well as a trip to The Seasons Story and the other great places that make up this article.

Another adventure is in the books so I will leave you with the credits and say sayonara for now but check back again soon. On to the next conversation!

HAIRTableau Vivant \\ Eastern Promises Hair

This hair is one I’ve had in hiding for a long time. I am not sure what reason I bought it in the first place but I must have had the notion for using it and now in the present I have found just the right place for it.

HEADCATWA – Dino ♯ NEW

The latest release in the male head collection by creator Catwa Clip, this softer and more ethnic featured face is still just as handsome as the others. This appeals heavily to those out there that have been looking for a diverse looking face.

EYES⊱ Go&See * Fall * (Anniversary Gift) @ The Season’s StoryNEW

Going to an event where creator’s give you gifts just for checking it out? Heck yes! Go&See is offering as a gift for the anniversary edition of The Season’s Story – Fall edition a 4 pack of eyes specifically made for CATWA eyes. These give you just a bit of a preview of the bigger pack of eyes with the same name that is for sale at the event. Very detailed and appealing and worth giving a look.

FACE⊱ ::LV:. Noct Applier – Pearl/02 ♯ MarketplaceNEW

In conjunction with the Catwa “Dino” head, LV Designs has created a skin based off of a character from a well known video game franchise. The skin is compatible with Stray Dog 02 body appliers and also comes packaged with eye and body shapers.

BODYBelleza – Jake

OUTFIT⊱ ::GB::Katakake Haori – Kon-ai @ MatsuriNEW

Personally I am a fan of this type of attire. I think it stems back to different television shows and movies that were located in Asian countries. I also thought it would be cool to be a samurai and learn the art of wielding a timeless weapon but not for reasons of violence. Swordsmanship is much more than that.

Compatible with: Belleza, Signature, SLink, and TMP

SHOES[sYs] ZORI TABI Shoes – Black / White

These have been in my closet for a good while and were also looking for a reason to be brought out and this helped make putting together this wardrobe a lot easier. There are only sizes for classic avi’s in this package, I was able to hide my feet to make it work with the length of the kimono.

DISPLAY:BAMSE: Bushido Display

This was the first piece that started the brainstorming into what you are seeing as the final production. I love learning about swords especially those of asian origin. They are beautifully crafted and not at all clunky like some of the bigger bladed weapons in history. To proudly display this fine creation by BAMSE is certainly an honor for me.

BACKDROP⊱ *bitter vanilla* -4- b.v Kuchinashi (Brown) @ MatsuriNEW

This is one of four different stylized backdrops that can be played for in the gacha machine at Matsuri. There are different color schemes each with accompanying HUD’s to change different parts of the scene. What’s best about this is that you can take the item from the machine to the main location and trade it in for a copy-able version that you won’t have to worry about it being eaten or accidentally deleted and gone for good.

<K&S> Fearless. Bento Poses 2 (2)

This is the second part of a pose set that I used in my last entry. Another three poses that are quite different from those you find in the first set. I really like the set as a whole and hope to find more like this from K&S
