[#480] Movies

I want you to be free
Don’t worry about me
And just like the movies
We play out our last scene

Alien Ant Farm, ♫Movies

One of my favorite things to do (when weather permits and funds are available) is go to the movies and a lot of time the cost to go these days is outrageous just for one person so I can only imagine what it is like for a family of four or more to go. There are places that have matinees or special deals to get you in to see the latest and greatest which is always the best time to go.

Being the geek that I am, the excitement for the latest Avengers movie “Infinity War” which comes out next Friday already has me itching to see it. Some say you can’t be a fan of both DC and Marvel comics apparently has never met me…because if it is comic book related I am going to see it because (comic books) are one of the things that helped me draw imagination as a youngster and though I don’t keep up with them much now (if at all) I still find ways of seeing what’s happened with certain characters of both imprints.

Pose Fair has some time left but I wanted to make sure that I featured the pose that I am using for this scene because it blends a bunch of things that I love together. The idea of going to the movies and getting some buttery popcorn to munch on as one loses themselves in the worlds that are being created in front of them on the screen. ASO has captured that with their exclusives for the fair and they deserve applause for how simple yet great these poses are.

That’s right, ASO! created two different poses which you can use in a movie theater setting or inside of one (there are tons of options you can work with as far as scenery) with realistic looking popcorn (one pose contains a bag and the other just some popcorn you are tossing into your mouth). The detail on the popcorn when you move close to it is nearly mind blowing. This was one pose that was fun trying to create an idea and visual around and I hope to see more from them in the future that is just as appealing and I have no doubt there will be.

Remember that you have until the 30th of April to hit the Pose Fair for all your photography and blogging needs before the doors close.

Modulus has a been on fire lately with releasing a ton of new hairs and have event updated some of the skins and one thing is for certain and I’ve said this before and I could say it until I’m blue in the face, Chucky Hollak is a man dedicated to his customers. At FaMESHed you can take a look at the “Baptiste” hair which is a a side swept hair of short to medium length which you can have shaved back and sides or just a normal under hair.

It reminds me slightly of a hairstyle that a younger Leo DiCaprio might have had at one time (which to you could be a good or bad thing but I’m looking at it like it is a good thing regardless of any kind of personal feelings about the actor as it isn’t relevant here). I went with the brown color HUD which has been my go to lately (previously always wore black but have been changing it up). If you are or even aren’t a fan of brown there are plenty of choices with 25 colors overall distributed through 5 different HUDs with an integrated tinting application. Of course a FATPACK is also available for those of you that just like to try different things on any given day and stick to one hairstyle for a while.

Check this out at FaMESHed right now which runs through the 27th of April.

When I had my look, pose and idea settled upon the next step was for me to figure out how to compose my image. One thing I know I wanted to do was use a movie theater and KraftWork has a really amazing build that I’ve had for a while and I did my best to attempt to build a scene but that’s not really my forte in the larger scheme of things. Then I realized that the sim, The Last Forever, was created in part by the brand’s owners and a small collective of people; everything I needed to get my vision accomplished would likely be there.

I took a small field trip and a few moments after arriving I saw the exact shot that I wanted and went right to work.

As I wrap things up I encourage you to take a look at The Last Forever and also check out KraftWork, who are a fine creator of decoration and builds that may help those of you who are adept at creating scenes yourself to be inspired for your own pictorials. My requirements as a blogger for Pose Fair have also been met but considering the event is still running and there’s plenty of good things that I’d like to use, you’ll likely see more from the event in some of my upcoming blog posts.

Until our paths cross again, onto the next conversation…

[#374] So Say Hello To Heaven

Chris Cornell
1964-2017

I never wanted to write these words down for you
With the pages of phrases of all the things we’ll never do.

Say Hello 2 Heaven” –  Temple Of The Dog  ♫Listen

After a few days of reflection and introspection, I decided that I was going to show my appreciation for a musician who has been a part of my life for over 20 years. From the beginning when I first heard “Outshined” by Soundgarden I knew there was something special about the bands vocalist, Chris Cornell. This past Wednesday he left the world and left a lot of questions behind. I’m not going to write about the circumstances behind it, I’m only going to think fondly back on the time and the music that his legacy leaves behind. I put together a look that reminds me of a time when I was first introduced to the grunge/alternative scene that is so close to my heart and take me back to some simpler times.

It was not just the times with Soundgarden that I am fond of but that is where my appreciation began. I think one of the best projects that Chris was a part of was Temple of The Dog album which he teamed up with what would become future members of another legendary grunge group, Pearl Jam (who were the remnants of a group I am about to mention). They got together and made a record as a tribute to their fallen friend, Andrew Wood, who had been the vocalist for the Seattle based group called Mother Love Bone. Andrew had passed away due to an overdose and much like people today are mourning Chris, the music scene felt the ripple of his passing. The theme in today’s look is from the Temple of The Dog album which some 25 years later is just as fitting for Andrew as it is now for Chris. There are many musicians from many different eras but very few of them had the kind of voice, Chris Cornell did and that is why he will truly be missed by his family, friends, and fans all over the world. Thank you for the music.

There are very few new items in this look except for the MESANGE exclusive from We Love RP in the form of the “Sheba Eyes” there are 15 different iris tones to choose from and are also available a bundle together, complete with a HUD that will work with the included mesh eyes as well as Omega Applier friendly ones such as Catwa.

The other new item is from CDC (or Chris Dunkelheit Creations) which is a maker of shapes, skins, beards and other fine products. What I am wearing from them here is the No. 57 beard which reminds me of the early 90’s mustache and goatee that Chris wore and also could be seen in the brief cameo of his in the movie, “Singles”.

Once again I am wearing the Belleza “Jake” mesh body and I am finding the more that I am using it, the more I am really liking it and cannot wait for more products to be released exclusively for it and I know that they will be pouring in to stores and events in the near future.

Fitting my grunge theme are the “Clay” dirty jeans from Legal Insanity. These disheveled cut off shorts with fraying bottoms come complete with a shirt wrapped around them. The store also sells different texture appliers for the shirt which I purchased the TARTAN v.1 extra because I really liked how the flannel inspired the look even more. With the use of Alpha Sliders, these shorts fit perfectly with the standard sizes provided in the package.

For footwear,  I am wearing the [Deadwool] “Strider” boots which I knew were absolutely perfect in completing this 90’s inspired grunge look.

Lastly for honorable mention in this post is the chair that is used in the scene, it is the “Lexington Chair” from {Q-Essentials}. It has poses included in it but the setting I envisioned in my head was to be sitting on the floor so I did not use them. It is a great decor item to add to your collection if you are looking for new furniture. There is also a Sofa available as well. The pose I used is from <K&S> Poses and is from the “No Problem” set # 2. These are mostly sitting or crouching poses for those who are looking to set up a scene without furniture or just want to be posed on the floor.

That is all there is to know about what went into the styling of this post and I hope you enjoyed this tribute as much as I did creating it. I thank any of you who read, view, like, comment, or fave this on social media. I appreciate it all and I hope that I’m able to express that to you in some form one day. Until next time, as always…stay stylish fellas!

[#319] Last Christmas, I Gave You My Heart…

post319_01 post319_02

But the very next day you gave it away
This year to save me from tears
I’ll give it to someone special

Last Christmas” –  Wham!    ♬Listen

To those of you who celebrate it, Merry Christmas!!! And to those who celebrate other things this time of your no matter what it is, Happy Holidays to you as well. Another one is in the books and in some places a lot of the white stuff has hit, just as it has all over the grid.

In my last transmission I featured a new mesh head with the Bento technology that has been released within the last month. A lot of creators who have already made mesh noggins have started to ship out their updates with new versions of their product as well as versions with Bento. In this particular shoot, I am using the updated Adam head by Absolut-Creation (Ginger Chevalier). While there are no animation packs available at this time, the ability to change your look via the sliders in your shape adjustment section of your viewer is there. Now you can keep the look the designer has intended or you can venture on your own to make an even more unique look for yourself.

[Deadwool] is in the Christmas spirit and has placed out for their Group Members a nice little gift of the Erik gloves which come in several mesh body fits (Signature, Slink, TMP and Standard) and also in three different tones (Black, Blue, and Gray) and two pose types (Relaxed and Closed). These are great for your outdoors looks and photos. Thank you to Masa Plympton for sharing those with us.

It’s been a while since I’ve featured anything from the FaMESHed event but Kauna released a nice holiday themed jacket/sweater combination called UPCLR, which comes in two colors (Brown and Gray) with several different options including a string of Christmas lights that hang around your shoulders. Also included are a pair of trousers in the same two color options as the jacket. The sweater itself has two different festive designs in several colors as well as plain for those who are not feeling so cheery.

For the feet I’ve paired the outfit with the BOSTON boots from Antoni & Daniel, formerly the people of ODDITY3D. These great boots that have a fit for SLink, Signature, TMP, and Unrigged have many single pack color options but if you pick up the Fatpack, you get three exclusive colors for free that you would not be able to get by just buying them standalone. The value in that by itself is a plus.

I have two different products from MODULUS this go round. A hair/hat combo called, Riley, which is a little similar to the item released in the SwagBag for December save for the color/texture of the beanie which are specific to each one. You can purchase Riley at this month’s TMD.

There is also a Firepit and Stool set that you can grab at the December round of Shiny Shabby. The Firepit has different options for intensity of the flame as well as a smoke option. The stool has single pose animations for both Male and Female. It’s a nice addition to your winter decor outside and can easily keep your pixels warm while you spend time getting fresh air.

There are taxi’s waiting below for you to check out these great events and stores. Enjoy the rest of your holiday and I’ll be back again soon with something new and exciting. Until then, keep it stylish fellas!

P.S. This posting was in the 98% finality stage when learning of the untimely passing of George Michael who wrote and co-performed the inspiration used in this photo. Instead of scrapping it and using something different I am going to post it in honor of him and this timeless Christmas classic. May you rest well in eternity and thank you for your contribution to the music industry.

[#236] I’ve Got The Magic In Me

post236_01
So come one, come all see the show tonight
Prepare to be astounded no ghosts or poltergeists
You know I’m no Pinocchio and never told a lie
So call me Mister Magic Man I float on cloud 9

I would have liked to have gotten this posted sooner but lately the real world has been taking more out of me than even I anticipated. However, that is of no consequence because it is a celebration around these parts; I have officially been blogging for two years now!

This project originally started out as “The Saints of Fashion{ation}” but matured and progressed into what it is today. I am very proud of what I do here and the acquaintances and designers I have gotten to know on a personal level that also entrust me with displaying their products as sponsors.

I promise this is just a small start and I look forward to many more works of art and creations to breathe life into. Thank you to everyone that has been supportive of this venture. Those who are the most important know who they are and I would hate to leave anyone out.

Again I humbly thank everyone for their suggestions, thoughts, critiques and all the other things that keep me going. I hope I can repay this gratitude in any way possible.
