[#548] Twistin’ The Night Away

Let me tell you ’bout a place
Somewhere up-a New York way
Where the people are so gay
Twistin’ the night away
Here they have a lot of fun
Puttin’ trouble on the run
Man, you find the old and young
Twistin’ the night away

Sam Cooke, ♫Twistin The Night Away

My taste in music is a broad range that includes a wide variety of genre’s and extends from what is current to many tunes from the past. I decided that combine a look that is fitting today with a song from way back. Sam Cooke had many songs that are still highly regarded today but one that sticks out in my mind is “Twistin’ The Night Away” because once you hear it you can’t help but want to move because it gives you such wonderful vibes.

Admittedly I’ve been a bit behind with responsibilities blogging for Bakaboo and I truly love the work that Ocean does with his creations. To me I feel like I need to be in a certain mood to come up with something creative and fitting for these styles because something ordinary and plain will just not do. Hopefully though I will be able to step forward and give these items the proper care they deserve.

For the look I have in this entry are the “Max” jacket and pants (though to me they are more like shorts as they do not go to the ankle). I think it is neat that with the jacket there is are cutouts on both the front and back with mesh to see through to your skin along with an ample amount of colors to choose from. The pants themselves have the same colors/patterns to match the jacket but if you want to be daring you can mix them up as well.

There is an ultimate edition available where you get the pattern on the jacket I am wearing which if it were me seeing this on another site it would convince me more to look into getting the special edition just for that because it cannot be found anywhere else.

Bakaboo Max (Jacket & Pants) features:

  • Original Mesh
  • 10 colors (5 plain, 5 with design) for both Jacket and Pants
  • Ultimate Edition has HUDs for Jacket, Pants and also to change just the back of the jacket)
  • Exclusive design for Ultimate Editions
  • Fitted for Aesthetic, Belleza (Jake), Signature (Geralt, Gianni), SLink Physique, Standard Sizes and Tweenster
  • Currently for sale at the Bakaboo in-world location

So many different types of items can be found at the Access event (the Rue pose set from WRONG is making another appearance here) and I’m featuring one of the latest hairs from Modulus in the “Lucian Hair”. It’s a bowl type style that is still popular today as it was in the 90’s where I saw quite a few guys rocking it. I myself even might have had it styled this way once but I went through a lot of stages back then and nowadays I’m a low to no maintenance type of hair guy.

It’s not often that with a hair I go with a straight white without coloring it but I wanted to try something more out of my normal (which I’ve only done plain white less times then the fingers on one hand). With the clothing style of Bakaboo it made sense to go with a non-traditional hair color.

This is definitely a hair release I expect to see guys out there wearing proudly.

Modulus Lucian Hair features:

  • Original “Nex-Gen” Alpha Mesh
  • 5 Color Pack HUDs to choose from + integrated color picker
  • 40 color FATPACK also for sale
  • Mirrored left or right hairs included
  • Exclusively available @ Access until December 07th

I‘ve done plenty of on location photos lately but there are several great backdrops that I want to catch up on from Paparazzi including the one you see in today’s blog. “The Aquarium Room” is kind of like one of those you see in a fancy house with a furnished basement with a huge fish tank and the cool part is that not only do you get the backdrop itself but also the 3 different types of fish and 2 different types of starfish.

This fish tank may seem a little sad as there are only three fish in it but I knew if I started putting out a whole bunch of fish it would get out of hand and I wanted to make sure that at least one of each kind was visible. One of them I’d like to say is patterned after a forgetful cartoon fish (yeah you know the one…I think).

Also I found out that there was a new update to the LeLutka “Andrea” head so I took a trip to the store to grab the latest version and there is a new look HUD with some fancy new features and animations. One of the features I though was interesting was the ability to reroute things like beards and hairbases. It’s all there in the manual and I’m sure I’ll get through it all eventually but also wanted to anyone out there who had not heard about it that owns this head.

Any kind of update for something such as a head or a body or even a skin is always worth getting so that you have the latest and best version available…because after all you paid for it!

Hate to say it but I think time is up for this entry but don’t worry I’ll be back again before too long with something fun and new with my take on it. For anyone that’s dealing with winter’s fun cruel joke I’m right there with you. Be safe and stay warm until I’m back with a new conversations but until then I’m going to run off to twist the night away!

While I am currently behind on the current season of The Walking Dead I kind of wanted do a post apocalyptic type photo. I scoured the different resources I had for sims and came across one I had yet to visit and after wandering around for a few moments I knew what I was going to do. This came a bit easier then I intended because I’ve been standing around trying to piece things together.

I decided to try out one of the new windlights by Battlescars which are free for just visiting the 6° Republic event and with a little tweaking and fine tuning I was able to get the right atmosphere I was looking for. I’m a big fan of Jay’s work and have used his other windlights over time and look even more forward to the stars release that will be coming out soon. The gift ones are well worth even just stopping at the event as there isn’t any pressure to buy anything though I found an item or two during my visit.

TMD has been a particularly good round this month and I’m glad to see that Hermony and TonkTastic have collaborated on some new graphic tees which I have the collection from last year that are awesome. This set is equally as great which makes it tough to choose one to feature (as there are 48 different designs in all) but I found one that best fit the setting.

When these two work together only good can come of it and being that I love graphic shirts like this in the real world, it makes me glad that I can have something just as cool in the virtual one that maybe has never been thought of before by any other clothing maker. Mad props to Hermanni and Tonk for creating such a wide variety for the consumer.

Hermony & TonkTastic Jersey Tee features:

  • Original Mesh
  • 48 designs to choose from (for sale individual sale)
  • 4 packs of 12 also for sale
  • Demo available
  • Exclusively @ The Men’s Department until Nov. 30th

The rest of my look consists of things I’ve filled in with items I’ve already blogged or that have been sitting waiting for me to use at the right time. Having a blog post where everything is new can be nice but it just winds up being a lot to cover and that means more writing (and I don’t mind it but I don’t want to suffocate a first time reader or one that is returning).

At the beginning of the blog I mentioned “The Walking Dead” and after I took the photo I couldn’t help but notice that my virtual self looks a bit like Rick Grimes. Others may or may not see it but it seems like later on in the series where he’s been out there in the world of the non living and has grown a beard and his hair had gotten longer. It wasn’t something that I did on purpose but I find it humorous that I noticed it well after I finished and it’s not a proper tribute but it works just the same.

Another post is now finished so I can begin getting ready for what’s next and this month there is just about as much to do as there was last month without all the craziness of it. Deadlines are still deadlines and I intend to crush them as I usually do, so all that is left is provide the credits and I’ll be back again with another conversation.

[#546] Habits

I eat my dinner in my bathtub
Then I go to sex clubs
Watching freaky people gettin’ it on
It doesn’t make me nervous
If anything I’m restless
Yeah, I’ve been around and I’ve seen it all

Our Last Night, ♫Habits
(Originally by Tove Lo)

I‘m fairly certain that just about everyone has someone in their life that they miss either from the past or the present (even though it’s usually better for it to be present as the past can be messy at best). My interpretation of “Habits” is a little different than the actual song depicts as I’m not a drug induced sex maniac missing their ex.

For me it’s more about just missing someone very deeply and also I have a pretty cool bathroom and bathtub that works out well with verses in the song.

Another thing I don’t often do is show a whole lot of skin but because I had picked up the “Tommy” towel from NOCHE in a previous round of Equal10 that I’d just go for the gold and see what I could come up with (and also it helped me feature the tattoo I have on). When I opened the package for the towel I was oddly impressed that it came with the regular towel along with a version where you are basically holding it open allowing for a view of the full monty and that is something I wouldn’t show regardless if there were anyone wanting to see it.

The towel also includes a HUD with a ton of different color options which I didn’t get fancy with because with the atmosphere I had going on a wild color wouldn’t have worked out well and while I am wearing the version for the Signature (Gianni) body it also includes a Belleza (Jake) size as well.

MooLoo has been around for a few months now and are a part of this round of The Men Jail with their “Cowboys & Indians” tattoo. It sticks to the theme having different depictions of things that would be associated with both cowboys and indians as the theme. Tattoos over the last couple years have been mix and match of different things thrown together but create meaningful tattoos and that is also what I’m seeing here.

The thing I like about the HUDs that are included (Black & Color in both fresh and faded) is that in them they have multiple ways to apply them (Belleza, Signature, SLink etc) all in one easy to use HUD. That is something that I don’t see often with tattoos as usually each specific type of applier has it’s own so excellent job to streamline and make putting them on easier.

MooLoo Cowboys & Indians Tattoo features:

  • 4 Appllier HUDs (Color/Fresh, Black/Fresh + Color/Faded, Black/Faded)
  • Appliers for Belleza, Omega, Maitreya, Signature and SLink
  • Exclusively @ The Men Jail until November 28th

As one of my blogger brands. I am consistently happy with the hair releases that Modulus puts out and I try to blog everything I can but I put priority on using the things I know will fit a scene I’ve built in my head first. In real life I probably wouldn’t grow or style my hair this way because I personally don’t like anything in my face (hair mostly though) but the virtual me loves it and that is because I don’t have to worry about styling or feeling it.

“Lee” is the latest addition to the brand’s hair collection that I would consider messy as quite a bit of it hangs in the front which I think for the type of photo I was doing it worked perfectly as I used the mirrored version that moved in the direction that my body was in the pose I chose. I am hoping that more messy styles come as future releases because I think I could work a few scenes out with that style.

Modulus Lee Hair features:

  • Original “Nex-Gen” Alpha Mesh
  • 5 color HUD options + integrated color picker
  • Mirrored left and right versions
  • 40 color FATPACK also available
  • Exclusively @ Equal10 until Dec. 05th

As I come to the conclusion of this blog post I think that sometimes doing things you normally don’t do have a way of paying off (potentially speaking) and if showing a little bit more than usual is a way to express myself differently it’s an avenue that I could give more though on in the future. I’m more of a reserved kind of guy but “letting loose” as it’s said can be freeing too.

There are some great products to be featured in the next few installments that I’m looking forward to seeing what I can do with them visually. November may pale in comparison in productivity but I do hope that I can continue to stay motivated like I have been this week to see to it that everything I want to post finds its way here.

It’s been my pleasure and I will be back soon with another conversation but until then be well.

[#545] No Recess

Won’t you believe it
It’s just my luck…

Nirvana, ♫School

I am noticing now that with streamlining how much I feature in blogs has not only helped keep my thoughts fresh but my creativity on level where I expect it should be at. Another thing that I have also been doing is finishing posts later in the evening and setting them to post the next day and all I have to do is finish promoting them to social media (which has also helped).

Many of the items in this blog are carry overs from things I’ve purchased from events that have long been over (though none of them are from brands I represent) along with one new item that is and can be found currently at Uber.

Small bit of insight into creating this idea is I have done a few scenes that have pertained to high school or school in general but this time I turned it up just one more notch and with the help of “School” by Nirvana which is one of their songs before they hit the big time (it is on their first album “Bleach”) with simple lyrics but it hits the point.

By the time you reach high school and the start to feel some of the pressures of becoming an adult you realize the days of having recess and fun times are behind you. Then that time hits after you’ve graduated and you’re an adult and see social interactions between people and they fail to act their age and makes you feel like you’re back in high school.

In my school days I wasn’t popular or a sports hero of any kind I stayed under the radar and was friendly with just about anyone but didn’t overstep in circles I didn’t belong in (nor did I want to belong in a specific group). For this look however I found myself wearing the “Ethan College Jacket” by ExalteD and even though it has college in its title it fits more with the high school setting as it is essentially a letterman’s jacket. The jacket only comes in sizes for Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni) but the advice I would give (which I rarely ever take) is to grab a demo before purchase just to be on the safe side.

Then I threw on the quickest pair of jeans that I had access too as that is the standard high school wardrobe. The Deadwool “Broberry” jeans that I have the washed pack version of works in a pinch just about every time which leads me to the final piece of the outfit puzzle….

Native Urban’s most recent sneaker release “Another 1” is a great low-top sneaker and reminiscent to a classic shoe from a brand I’m not going to speak the name of for likely legal purposes (and because it isn’t a 100% facsimile). The custom options in the fatpack are more than well worth it when you break down how many different combinations you can manage with it as well as it would offset the cost of more than one single pair if that was in consideration.

Usually I do not keep the tag visible in my photos but for fun I thought it would be something different to give a better look at an option I don’t normally show. The fact that it can be colored differently as well just raises the cool factor for virtual sneakerheads out there (I consider myself one of those but that’s not anything new).

Native Urban Another 1 Sneaker features:

  • Original mesh
  • Unisex
  • 14 customizable parts with 17 colors (FATPACK Only)
  • Fitted for Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni)
  • Exclusively @ Uber until November 23rd

Back in March there was an event honoring the anniversary of The Breakfast Club movie (I blogged a few items from it that I liked) but I had bought this Classroom set from Anxiety and I hadn’t found a purpose for it yet and while the original idea that I had for it was probably a little bit better I think that how I put this scene together works for the mood that I was after.

There were a lot more accessories from this set I could have (and should have) put out but I didn’t want to over clutter but I’m hearing some of my decor blogger friends scolding me a little in my mind which makes me laugh a little bit considering decor is not my world and I certainly couldn’t do it on the level many of my fellow bloggers can; I’ll stick to what I know I excel at but maybe one day way down the road I can give it a more serious try.

After my last post I realize that one of things I need to work on more is how to sign off on a blog post as I am confident mostly about how I start and the flow of things throughout the middle go well but when I get to the end I just feel that what comes out is lacking. It’s probably something I should discuss a little bit in detail with those closest with me to see if there is an easier solution because right now it is not a strong suit.

Coming up in the next blog (subject to change of course) I think I’m going to work with something from The Men’s Jail and I have a feeling it could go over well but we’ll see.

I‘m going to sign off on this post and I will be back soon for another conversation.

[#544] Waking Lions

Is this better, tell me there’s a better way
I’m not afraid, I’m not gonna hide from the
Vultures above, serpents below
They wanna lay me to rest, but I won’t go
Yeah

Pop Evil, ♫Waking The Lions

Often enough I get these ideas in my head for photos but I don’t always take them right when it comes to me; I think the reason is because there is something that I might not have for a style or it is just timing but when the moment hits when I know it’s time to take the photo I don’t hesitate otherwise I could lose it for good.

Losing ideas when it takes enough time to create them is bad in this line of work (though it’s not really work it feels more like professional fun without getting paid).

For the blog post today I wanted to share a positive message and along with the song “Waking Lions” by Pop Evil that is sure to be felt if you follow the link at the top to give it a listen (hopefully it is available in as many countries as possible). The message being that there are lots of times when we feel down to the point where maybe getting up is no longer worth it but believe me it is worth it and becoming stronger and finding your inner lion to take on the challenges in front of you can make the difference not only for yourself but others around you.

It’s a principle I know that I try to follow every day as much as I possibly can.

The Man Cave event ended earlier than I expected or remembered so I just missed being able to feature the “Vincent Hair” from Modulus for the event. The style is a predominantly combed back hair with a few locks falling forward on either the right or the left side of the face (depending on which version you wear). I am wearing it on the left side as that is more to where my body is leaning in the photo.

Once again I’m wearing a lighter color and with the help of the lighting (via the windlight I chose) is helping it take on some cool highlighting which I find turned out really well as a result.

This hair is available at the Modulus in-world store and will be coming soon their marketplace.

Modulus Vincent Hair features:

  • 100% Alpha Hair ‘Next Gen’ mesh
  • Mirrored left and right versions included
  • 5 Cold HUD options + integrated color tinting
  • FATPACK also available with all 40 colors
  • Available @ the Modulus In-World Location

After a bit of a hiatus, Hermony is back not only with one product by himself but a collaboration with TonkTastic at this months TMD. While I will be covering the collab soon, this time I’m featuring the “Eyes of The Beholder” eye set which is probably one of my most favorite eye releases in recent times. There are a lot of different iris colors to choose from and these eyes work with both the CATWA eyes that come rigged with your head (with the help of a button on the applier HUD) or the unrigged eyes you can get from the CATWA store itself.

It gives you the option also for both regular eyes and also “stoned” eyes or you can also refer to them as bloodshot eyes which can also come from other things besides partaking in a puff or two. You could definitely go through a night of liquid encouragement to wind up with eyes like that as well as lack of sleep too but it’s a nice added touch personally.

If you want a demonstration on how these eyes work please visit this instructional video HERE!

Hermony Eyes of The Beholder features:

  • Applier HUDs for CATWA + Genus Project
  • Mesh eyeballs also included
  • 18 color iris’ to choose from (#3 featured)
  • Clear or stoned versions included
  • Colors sold separately or as a FATPACK (discounted for event)
  • Exclusively @ TMD until November 30th!

Looks like that should about do it for this blog post as I mentioned last time I’d try to keep it as linear as I possibly could to avoid boring anyone who might stop by. There’s definitely more things coming up that I look forward to featuring in blogs that I hope others will like as well. To give an idea of what is coming up there’s more from Hermony & TonkTastic as I spoke about above as well as more Modulus hair from totally recent events as well as some more new gear from Native Urban and Bakaboo just to mention a few.

Time for me to move on to the next conversation…

[#543] Nutshell

We chase misprinted lies
We face the path of time

Alice In Chains, ♫Nutshell♫

October as a whole was definitely a crazy month with lots of different looks and blogs and by the end it felt like I was dragging a little bit so…after a few days of relaxation I’m back at it again and staring the month fresh. I’m not entirely sure what prompted me to put together the scene I did but I think that sometimes we all have this moment of solitude and was thinking about the song “Nutshell” by Alice In Chain, which became the soundtrack to the blog. I felt that when I was done with the scene that it fit the vibe of a beautiful yet haunting song.

As a blogger there are different levels of recognition some on a higher plane then others but regardless are still visible to a large group of people. Those bloggers who write along with their photos as I do sometimes bare more of themselves in their work and even though we are doing it the privacy that most people have is lessened.

While some might crave exposure (I can’t speak for anyone) others might feel like their lives are on display in a way they never thought it would be and that is how our lives are and there is always going to be an bump in the road or adversity that we must face and it is how we handle it that makes or breaks us.

November is now here and in a few days The Men Jail event is going to return with a brand new build with the same dedication to bring guys across the grid the best in fashion, decor, avatar accessories and poses. As I start to become a veteran of the event (being a part of the blogging team now for about 9 months and enjoying every part of it.

One thing I’ve noticed about the event is that it just keeps getting better and better which is what any event coordinator wants as well as the ability to keep bringing in well known designers as well as being able to bring more attention to the smaller ones to help them grow and become more popular and successful.

Cheerno is well known for skins, body parts (such as hair and ears) but now has chosen to strictly for the time being provide fashion and at this months round of The Men Jail they have a really fantastic turtleneck for sale. There are two color packs available for that have different colors in each HUD to change and I am using version I, though there are some similar colors in both. There is also a integrated color picker included in each HUD so that you can select your own color.

CHEERNO Zeb Turtleneck I features:

  • 100% original mesh
  • HUD with 6 changeable colors
  • Fitted sizes for Belleza (Jake) and Signature (Gianni)
  • Exclusively available @ The Men Jail starting Nov. 08th!

I‘ve paired it with one of the washed versions of the”Broberry” jeans by Deadwool that I haven’t blogged before but with the lighting there isn’t really much difference in it but they work well with the turtlenck and the look has been given approval so I know that I did a good job with it. For my shoes I am wearing the “Adversity Sneakers” from DossiEr that were a part of a previous round of the Hipster Men’s Event but I had to get a redelivery because my inventory seemed to do that eating thing which is why I didn’t blog them sooner…2nd world problems I tell you!

To try and make the posts a little shorter and maybe be able to post more I’m going to focus on at least one to two new products and tell you about them as I have been and not try to cram so much into a post because even to me they tend to feel a little long so I’m going to try to streamline them a bit as best as I can from now on.

I’m going to end this post with the good stuff ie… credits and until next time, it’s onto the next conversation…

[#542] Thriller

‘Cause this is thriller, thriller night
And no one’s gonna save you from the beast about to strike
You know it’s thriller, thriller night
You’re fighting for your life inside a killer, thriller tonight

Michael Jackson, ♫Thriller♫

Happy Halloween everyone, I hope that everyone that observes/celebrates the day is enjoying themselves while remaining safe in having a good time. The grid is a bit shaky tonight as I work on this blog post but I’ve managed to put together everything I need to get this situation taken care of.

In one of my most basic blogs of all, I am wearing an outfit that you can easily find already in your inventory by doing a search for Zombie and or Zombie Ian (if you are a female you can search for Sadie) and it will be in your library for you to add to yourself. It has everything you need to shamble walk anywhere you please as it includes the shape, body, pants, shirt and even hair.

Most people already know about this but to me it is absolutely new and such a hoot to have discovered (yes I used the word hoot because I can). What truly made this blog post fun to put together is the “Bloody Footprint Walker” collaboration from Albion ScriptWorks and Loco Designz. You see what it does is leaves a trail of bloody footprints behind you and also has a sound to go along with it as well and if you decide to sneak up on someone you very well may cause their hearts to race or their britches to fill up.

Also with this blog I’ve attempted something new to give you a taste of what this product is capable of and while I am by far not Vlogger of high caliber as it is my first time, I think I did okay and will practice every now and again to perhaps one day step my game up a little further but baby steps for now! I’ve included a video of me walking around Mopire City with the walker on; it’s a lot of fun and well worth checking out!

Albion ScriptWorks/Loco Designz Bloody Footprint Walker:

  • Product includes HUD, footprint walker attachment and two versions of footprints to rezz in-world.
  • HUD capable of turning on/off Footprints, Glowing footprints, Sound and Show/Hide particle prim
  • Available on the Albion ScriptWorks Marketplace store NOW!!!

Compared to 3/4 of my blog entries this one is rather short due to the fact I wanted to get it posted as soon as I possibly could and with the issues the grid was having I needed to work a little quicker as well. I hope you enjoyed the post and the video as I did creating it (and I can only hope I get better as time goes on).

Next time I post we will be in November which begins the mad swing towards the end of the year and major fall fashions and things that go along with it. Until our paths cross again I hope that you’ve had a good amount of candy (if it is your thing), it’s onto the next conversation…
